The BBC summary of yesterday’s relegation battle. “ injury hit United, injury crisis, 12 players out, depleted squad “ blah blah blah.

Out of those injured who is going to make a big difference.? The poisoned dwarf, Mainoo , Diallo and Ugarte? Possibly but not by much.

Up top they have the riveting conundrum of sideshow Zebedee or Hjoiland. As I said yesterday, the latter is the worst child in a team but his Dad is the Manager.

They are a million miles from winning the FACup or Europa League.

Looks like we are rooted to that perch Catweazle.

And I love it.

They had 11 players costing over £350million playing ? and have out on Loan another £200million, plus £1.5billion in debt, 15th in the table on a budget like that, FFP PSR or whatever they want to call it is working fine for me

I just listened to that today. I have zero sympathy for any of them as they lorded it over us for years....then there was that banner. Even now they still sing that childish and dire nick nack paddy whack song every fucking game. The whole club and it's shitty fanbase can rot and burn in hell for all eternity. Absolute scum.
What gets me they could be getting beat and out comes that nick nack crap why not get behind Your team it’s staggering..

They want the whole thing, not 29%

They have made that very clear.

How do they get more control? They know that they were only brought in because the Glazers had fucked it all up. So they've gone in there and taken control of everything, and made it 10 times worse. Why would they do that?

The Glazers don't have any more options. Cash in now, or watch it burn to the ground.
Or sell to someone else?

Every time there's a City report by Simon Stone and we have injuries he mentions City would get little sympathy.

Never happens when it's united. Sometimes he'll say they deserves some sympathy even. Same old trying to influence readers and set the narrative they want.

They consistently make players worse.

I think part of it is that they're being eaten by their own creation. The amount of pressure and exposure with everything they do is too much for a lot of their players to handle, more so than any other English club. They don't seem to do a good job protecting them from it e.g. every manager who's come in in recent years has picked a fight with someone in the playing squad to make an example. Mourinho with Luke Shaw, Ten Hag with Ronaldo, Amorim with Rashford.

Some of the players are ok, but still arrive with inflated reputations and prices. Also it's not just about players being good, they are just randomly haphazardly signing players. The latest big thing. They just look at whichever player "required for Manchester United's stature" is available and just pay whatever the overinflated price and wages are--no thought about the cohesion, playing identity and long-term succession planning. We'll see if they let Amoring bring in players for his 3-4-3, but for that overhaul they need to be ok with another season at mid-table.

Thing is now even if they do "return", there's no guarantee it's at the top at the table. For them a return may just look like what it did for us (LFC) in the 90s and 00s. Challenging for European places. The league is tougher now than it was in the 2000s, when it was just Arsenal and Manchester United, then Abramovich's Chelsea. The chasing pack has improved a lot, if you're not constantly on your game the dropped points pile up quickly. Still who knows how long Arteta stays around or how long Chelsea's project starts to bear fruit. Still in near future top three are probably locked for Arsenal/LFC/City, but no guarantee it'd be United for that other slot. Though England having five champions league places might help.
