The more I think about it I like the idea of being stuck around the 16th & staying up by stinking the place out with their minus goal dif. I always felt the Pearce years were worse than any relegation.
Absolutely.

Relegation might provide the catalyst they require for transforming the club from top to bottom.

Far better the fans suffer the never ending purgatory of mid-table obscurity and irrelevance.

Zero sympathy here.

He was either incredibly stupid or incredibly egotistical to take on the rag job.
so, you get offered a job, 3rd/4th choice by all accounts, which tripples your salary and comes with a hefty payout if you turn out to be bobbins at it...then you would be welcomed back to your old gig like the prodigal son...c,mon...who would turn that down?

None of this is new, their struggles and internal problems have been with them since way before that disgusting despot turned up.
They have always been an average mid-table side, nothing to write home about. But the Premier league and money from Sky gave them an advantage no other club -before or since- has enjoyed.
On top of this, and I genuinely believe this to be true, something went on between the club and the powers that be that pretty much put the referees in David Gill and the Pisscan's pockets. There simply is no other rational explanation for the decisions that went in their favour when the drunken despot was in charge.
The blatant one-sidedness they received from the officials only masked over the fact that they were not that good a team.
It would be churlish of me to say they were bad, they weren't. But they were no great shakes either: by and large they failed in Europe despite the absolutely obscene amounts of money they spent, and it was only a change in the rules that allowed them to get into the C.L. - thus giving them even more money with which to bully other clubs into selling their assets. And the other change from which they benefitted was the 'one foreigner' rule that was in place at that time. They had so many non-English players that the rules hampered them so (naturally) yet another change in the rules helped them out.

So as I say, a set of fortuitous circumstances elevated them above their normal status of mediocrity, but now we have a more level playing field so they have once again become the mid-table fodder they have always been.

Well, that's my story, your Honour, and I'm sticking to it!
It's all down to Sky, they're the real reason united have enjoyed so much favouritism and leniency from the footballing authorities and governing bodies.

Sky are the paymasters for the PL, FA and even PGMOL and Sky desperately want their global cash cow united to remain relevant.

Don't forget at the inception of the PL Sky wanted to actually buy united, presumably because they saw the income potential from their 6 trillion armchair supporters, but rules prevented Sky from buying them so they've just done the next best thing and become their biggest unofficial commercial partner.

Rules are still being invented to help them even now... £75m in "exceptional spending allowances" for one.

Nobody in their right mind would have paid £1.5billion for 25% of the shares, It does not give you a major say on the board for a start, then taking over the football side of things was always going to be downhill because of the debt and PSR, Ok they fudge the Allowances last time but can not do it again when it comes around again,

The Debt is the killer and grows and grows and the interest rates alone are crazy and unmanageable, with the way the rules are set out and the lifestyle United want to be at (challenging for titles) it is going to take a long time

Sheikh Jassim, buying United would be the death of them because all the rules against state-owned clubs, he alone only has £2.5billion to his name and would require his family to back him,

Would be so funny if Sheikh Jassim bought United.. It would mean Manchester City would be the major power in the league and would be a major voice on the EPL board,
Jassim hasn't gorn away.

If interested, following the insult from the Glazers, he'll now be happy to play the waiting game,
watching & waiting as the shit show of destruction continues to unfold.

Rat will strip the gaff bare in an attempt to keep them legal in the hope & desperation of plundering the public purse for tax payers £s for a white elephant.

Jassim will probably strike as the blood letting, toxicity and realism reaches its zenith.

Then the hypocrisy and fun will break oot.

"Brown is good" .....says Jim Brownish from slytalkshite, live in Qatar !!

Our own manager has been shit for a big part of this season, repeatedly using poor tastics for the players we have, etc. And he was a disaster in his first season. Which comes first between tactics and players is not always clear I think. We gave Guardiola the time to get it right and it seems we are doing the same again. It worked before. Hopefully it'll work again.

Amorin could be an awesome manager with the right players. So with time he could be great. But will he get the players, will he get the time, will he get it right even if he got both? No one knows but as always I hope it either stays shit or goes to shit at the first ray of light.

The same Sheikh that on numerous occasions couldn't provide proof of funding so the Glazers fucked him off.
Complete myth probably created by the Glazers to spook Radcliffe.

Is it true that all of utds titles in the last 80 years have been won by just two managers?
Yes.

Busby and the pisscan.

In fact all of the rags' titles have been won by three managers, two of whom have a connection to Manchester City.

In contrast, all of the last three City managers have won the title.

Biggest downer for the rags is that almost every player that leaves suddenly becomes good.

It’s fucking great. All of their worst signings have been good before they got there and good after leaving.

It points to something seriously rotten in the club that no matter how many times they change players, managers or even owners, the negativity just pulls them all down.
