If you look at the top club managers in the last decade, they come from 3 countries: Spain, Germany and Italy, not so much Portugal or the Netherlands, No Dutch manager has ever had any success in England except the odd cup win, and only Mourinho from Portugal.

It's great. I used to find this sort of coverage sickening (and, obviously, ludicrous) but now I love it as it's an example of the root cause of their continued shitness - the belief that they are inherently different and better than other clubs.

It's half right I suppose - they are different. Different and shitter.
Listened to Schmeichel trotting out the usual tropes last night on Radio 5 and no **** pulled him up on it. It’s actually insane the levels of Nelsonian blindness when it comes to to fabled ‘United way’.

They’ve actually been relatively shite for the majority of the last half century, but there’s this hive mentality that their rightful place is at the top.

As you say, long may it continue.

I hear Sky are changing their tune and questioning United's sanity. There seems to be creeping doubts about his lack of experience and the absolute state of the pub shite standards of much of the Portuguese League. No way to run a football club, they say. Another circular firing squad pending. Red Caf a bit divided. Some of them are talking another City trolling mission.

I listened to some of that. Absolute horse shit. No one is ever going to call them on it as it has gone on too long now.

They had a relatively good period under the Pisscan/Gill/Riley/Clattenburg/Webb organisation, but before and since they have been nothing to write home about.
They have had the media lauding their every move since the formation of the club, and have attracted money because of it. In terms of the football on the pitch it's all been long-ball stuff, hoofing it up the other end (saw highlights of one of their games recently, Schmeichel did nothing but outdo Jordan Pickford with his booting up the field), so what this mythical u*ited way is supposed to be a reference to I have no idea.

Mega-succes is something that happens now and again in football, no club will ever reign supreme forever, it just isn't like that, and the rags should look at the likes of Preston North End for giants that had their day long ago and have since faded into relative obscurity.
