Florian Wirtz

Thought about this again. The only way I could see of doing it would be if we sold Grealish and got Wharton as the CM,leaving a space for Wirtz to replace KDB. Wouldn't be cheap though, but can't think of any other homegrown player to replace Grealish with.
same i had that down in one of my more wild guess at how they have a go at it.. Slim chance though. (I was very bored)

The don't need Wirtz stuff is insane . He'd instantly become our best player with Rodri . All these attacking players named from our squad who can't score or create . We are 4th !
I'm all for getting WIrtz, but the main reason why we are 4th is nothing to do with our attacking abilities which have generally been pretty good . Its largely been due to a porous unathletic midfield and an injury ridden defense.

We can't spend all summer trying to sign he and being a summer like the Bellingham the Rice one where they played us when those players all along want the teams they ended up at! So for once I'd want us to ask what Leverkusen want make a bid till the except it that will call Wirtz and there management bluff then we can move on!

I'd be surprised if we see as many leave as you've set out. Gundo will get an extension, and had you only seen his performance on Saturday you'd be happy with that. The impact of a DM is clearly going to help him, and hopefully De Bruyne too - but it's yet to be seen whether he shows enough to warrant a new contract. I wouldn't give him one at this moment in time sadly.

Nunes, Walker, Phillips definite departures. Ederson and De Bruyne 50/50.

yeah, its all fantasy stuff right now ive no idea what the plan will be after a RB

Cracking player but if he comes I hope Phil goes been shafted out to the RW week in week out isnt going to do him any favours. Pep seems to do nothing but micromanage the kid.

Think Phil has other ideas.
I dont think you’re wrong but where does he play if Wirtz arrives?

As player as good as Phil is he has to look at the bigger picture. Ive never seen one player managed so much on a pitch each game as he is. Its almost as though at times he is restricted.

Lets not be silly a lot of top level teams would want him and he'd be in an instant starter in his preferred position.

Foden is at his best coming from the right.
Don't forget that Pep frequently started him to the right of Alvarez when KDB was out injured last season.

To be honest I'm not sure where we fit Wirtz in with what we have. What I do think though is that IF he is a target then there will be a plan to use him and Foden together, fairly certain Foden won't be sacrificed for anyone.

I don't think we're that far off what we need now. Wirtz and a RB would probably be enough given Nico's versatility to play as a 6 or 8. Hopefully Ederson stays. Gundo will trigger another season and with the right support should be able to perform to a better standard. De Bruyne I think will go. We might offer him another year, although that's doubtful at the moment - but I think he'll be able to get a couple of years on huge money elsewhere and will take it.

Savinho, Marmoush, Foden, Bernardo, Doku, Grealish, Wirtz, Gundogan, Haaland give us plenty of attacking options.

Nico, Rodri, Kovacic, Bernardo, Gundogan as central options

Gvardiol, Ake, Reis, Dias, Stones, Khusanov, Rico, Akanji, Cambiaso as defensive options.

Plus the likes of McAtee, O'Reilly and others from the academy.

That's exactly as I see it. Kev goes and we bring in one big name midfielder. Anyone else goes (Bernie, Grealish, Stones?) then we bring in a versatile player who can support or reinforce. Gundo can do player-coach stuff. Remarkable how better he looked with a proper defensive mid next to him. The four we've brought in already look like they've impacted the squad for the better. The surgery that needed to happen has happend imo. One or two more players in/out and we'll win a PL in the next two seasons.

The amount of injuries and games these days everyone would get plenty of games.

De Bruyne and Gundo on their last legs and Bernardo not far behind. We need Foden, a new signing and more.

Where does that leave Marmoush though, I get there will be rotation, but we also have the likes of Bobb, Doku, Echeverri, for those positions. Personally think an 8 to replace Gundogan, Kovacic, and the next year Bernardo and rotate with Gonzalez and Rodri would be a better fit. Still happy to leave it to Pep and Viana to make the right choice.
