Would be a fantastic signing but there are a couple of issues with this. One is Bayer Leverkusen will not sell especially after winning the Bundersliga for the first time in their history. Another factor is with Xabi Alonso sticking around for another season.

Not necessarily an issue. KDB might be considering a move to the MLS in 2025, so we could promise Wirtz his spot then?

If Pep leaves at the end of next season (as much as I’d hate that), throw the kitchen sink at them.

Not necessarily true for this summer. Wirtz will stay for another season especially with them winning the Bundesliga and Alonso having another season at Bayer Leverkusen as well. No harm in trying to secure a move for next summer.

You don't know anything about whether he'll stay or not, it's just your opinion.

We've got to test Bayer Leverkusen's resolve with a bid that take notice of, and make it known to Wirtz that his future is with us.
