Anyone who thinks the scum could/Would be relegated are deluding themselves, it will never be allowed to happen. The league is partially controlled by them and subsequently will always help them out in any way, shape, or form, deep down we all know this . Only when there is a seismic change of control in the premier league will the likes of the scum, dippers, arse, spuds be allowed to be relegated fairly if they were to find themselves in that position.

How many teams have been relegated when 12 pts clear with 13 games to go? Can only be 1 or 2 teams over the course of the PL era, so 30ish years.

So irrespective of anyone thinking it wouldn't be allowed to happen by virtue of United getting the benefit of decisions, its already virtually impossible by their current pts total and the ability of the 4 teams below them (not including West Ham) to get at least another 17pts which would double their current tally.

Manchester United are keen on signing Victor Osimhen, who is on loan at Galatasaray from Napoli, but the 26-year-old Nigeria striker's Champions League aspirations and wage demands might make any deal tough to complete. (Teamtalk)

Manchester City could face competition from rivals Manchester United for Atalanta's 23-year-old Belgium midfielder Charles de Ketelaere. (Teamtalk)

It’s based on how many points the teams below them can get , unless you think Ipswich will get more that 17/39 points ?
Just to add they currently have 17/75 points.

You would also need 2 of Wolves, Ipswich and Leicester to make achieving this not just 1 of them.

Basically the rags are safe due to there are 3 worse teams

This is the reality unfortunately. I mentioned it earlier in the thread, and that is they occasionally catch teams on an off day who otherwise may not be in too bad form. I suspect it will continue, as irritating as it is.

This. Anyone thinking otherwise is unwell.

Yeah, as bad as they are, they are averaging over a point a game, so think they will at least get to 35pts. No chance 2 of the current bottom 4 are getting to that total.

The duffers at the bottom will be and large remain the same. There's also the helping hand from pigmol/Var as an emergency back up for them if they were in any real danger.

Anyone saying that they would prefer the rags to stay up is absolutely insane

This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to see them really humbled

There would have to be a major fire sale of all their talents that still have a positive book value

Any big earners would also have to be ditched

They would be Leeds Utd from 20 years ago but on steroids

I was trying to convince myself it could happen but they would only have to pick up 3 or 4 points between now and the end of the season to be safe

Even with that , we would need Ipswich to pick up 16 points from 13 games

It would have to be one of those great escape scenarios
I am insane ....;)
As other posters have said ,I'd like them to fester around the bottom regions of the top division for two or three seasons ,slowly dying...........then....go down, and rot,in such a bad shape that there is no ggmu instant return,.
And then!...Stagnation.nether reaches of the championship...going nowhere fast.
EC can then take over with his seagulls and trawler nonsense,....and they can sink so deep,Ashley young, who has tasted seagull poo.........will be asked to return to ot.to help Eric.as assistant manager.
That's what I'd really like.

And anyone that disagrees with your post, ie footballs not corrupt should remember who interviewed Masters before he was allowed to take the job.

No chance of going down.united are a decent mid to lower mid table club.
I don't think they will go any lower but stabilise where they are.
Any mid table team can go on a cup run too, if the draw falls in the right way.
Even with their current crop of injuries, they can call on Zirksee, Casemiro, and Naguire.
They have successfully trimmed the Workforce to match their status, and are planning presumably a lick of paint around the theatre of leaks, so they can claim 50 million for the next round of PSR.
