I don't want them getting the £50m parachute payment, keep them hanging in 17th for a while.
Parachute payment! I had forgotten that. So whilst they got £40-45 million Covid corrupt payments relief because they’re manchesyoonytid can you imagine how the powers that be will massage the £50 million because of them being ‘a special case’

I imagine Utd will be looking to sell to buy a striker, ideally based in the Premier League because they can't afford more Hojlund / Zirkzee disasters. The Brentford forwards / Delap look possibilities.

Their current forward options are so poor. Garnacho is the only player who gets scoring opportunities. His miss at Spurs was astounding. He just had to hit the target but missed entirely.

With United’s batshit crazy transfer policy they could put bids in with Villa and Chelsea for those two hot prospects Rashford and Sancho.

He’s another one of those who has talent, but would rather be a social media footballer..

They can’t afford them, they’re skint!

I can’t see the rags being able to afford Delap or any other forward in the Premier League..

And would PL players want to go to the players' graveyard that is the swamp?

You mean like in 2019/20 when united had 22 penalties awarded in fifty seven competitive games, an incredible rate of a penalty awarded every 2.59 games, or every 233 minutes. Not sure they can do that now with var, at
least not so easily.

Wasn't it scudamore who said that the premier league brand needs a successful Manchester United? Wonder if that's still true, maybe the EFL have outbid then for the rights to old trafford next season.
Some stats to back it up (from Grok AI):

Here are some detailed statistics regarding penalties in the Premier League:

Most Penalties Awarded:
  • Manchester United: 169 penalties
  • Arsenal: 148 penalties
  • Liverpool: 142 penalties

BBC gossip features tabloids linking Delap to Man Utd. Obvious link. Someone is going to buy him. Arsenal probably unlikely. Chelsea and Man Utd are probably the favourites as they both need strikers. possibly Spurs too. Son is slowing up.

What I don’t understand is that when Ratcliffe came in, the story was he was taking 27% and would run the football operations. United fans rejoiced. They had someone other than the boogie man Glazers in to chase success on the pitch.

So, why is Ratcliffe making decisions on making back room staff redundant? How is that football related?

Who is making the decisions? Who is executing them?

I think we know.

It’s delicious
Ratcliffe is their John Maddock.

They had 11 players costing over £350million playing ? and have out on Loan another £200million, plus £1.5billion in debt, 15th in the table on a budget like that, FFP PSR or whatever they want to call it is working fine for me
What's that quote about how bankruptcy happens?
First it happens very slowly then suddenly, all at once.
That debt ain't getting any smaller. But the success and assets are, and noticeably so

City will decide where Delap goes as they hold the buy back.
