Have you seen any serious discussion about it? There was an old ex military guy mentioned it but was instantly fobbed off. The military didn’t want it and there is no political desire for it.

I think at most it might end up being a volunteer force.

Granted a full invasion for great Briton might change things but then that would change everything anyways.

Putin is seeking a new world order and if he prevails in the Ukraine I fear a new political/economic alignment of western Europe will inevitably follow one in the east. There is a queue of would be Russian allies - Hungary is already opening its arms and growing right wing movements in Germany, France, Austria, Italy etc see Putin as a desirable partner. Maybe Farage and his chums over here will engineer a welcome party too but my instinct is that this country's liberal democratic values won't go under without a fight.

Everyone worries about their son’s lives. So there’s nothing that distinguishes you there. Weaponising your son’s theoretical conscription as a reason to have a go at a guy who’s trying to defend his homeland, makes you a ****.

Zelensky has already conceded on the territory, but needs guarantees about future security. That’s not stubbornness, that’s survival.

If Putin realises his ambitions, it will be because of people like you.

In real terms social security spending has barely changed in the last 14 years and the largest proportion goes to pensioners anyway. Sounds like whoever you heard on the radio was trying to get people frothing about scroungers.

However it is scandalous that the Tories spent their whole time in government running down the capability of our armed forces whilst making out they were the party of strong defence, leaving us hugely exposed and far too dependent on the US.

I was so wrong about Trump. Never thought he’d become the good guy but I thought his desire for relations with Europe would outweigh his need in relation to Russia.

But I was clearly wrong.

We should be very cautious in our dealings as a nation with the US going forwards.
