Gotta love these posters saying how relaxed they are about it - they know as well as I do that the first time we slice through their defence (hopefully, in the first two minutes) suddenly it'll be 'Bloody hell, we might actually be on, here...'.
Cue another 120 minutes of ecstatic purgatory...

I'm fed up of outplaying these total gits every year before going out cos of a mad 5, or single pathetic excuse for a penalty. We should be swanning in there with an air of superiority about us, not all the kowtowing defeatist crap I read on here.

They are so used to teams shuffling through their tunnel, overawed by the hype. Those old enough to remember apparent no-hopers Wimbledon singing and taunting Liverpool at Wembley in 1988 know what I mean. Bounce through there as though we own the f*cking place!

And we are no Wimbledon! Come on City!

Same here. Not intimidated by them in the slightest. We've beaten them there before. I want to see Khusanov or Dias go through someone in the first 10 mins and let them know we aren't fucking around.

Feel the same as I did before the first leg. Champions League is not a priority for me this season so I'm not bothered if we go through or not, and I'm actually confident that going out will all but secure us top four if the new lads continue to bed in, but if we put in a good showing and get a 2-2 draw tonight then I'll be happy with that for sure.
Well i can see where you're coming from with that ..... i think we have little chance of a Champions League win this season, judging by our pityful results in Lisbon and Paris, and the chances are that we probably won't get past Real Madrid tonight anyway ..... so i would say that, as a supporter this season, i am of the opinion that 'realistically' a top four PL finish is our priority, with hopefully an FA Cup win to add a bit of silverware.

However i really hope that Pep and the players absolutely give the Champions League their best shot, whilst they are still in it .... it is still THE competiton to win in my eyes, and the one that offers the winning club increased prestige, huge global exposure, and no small amount of prize money either!

Agree. I am actually getting totally fed up of playing them every season, for 90% of the game being the better team/ having their number then just losing out by something stupid.

They feel like our European Kryptonite ( similar to Dippers in PL) that on most meetings no matter what we do these cheating, moaning whinging shysters get the better of us.

Obviously I would like to beat them tonight, but it's in the lap of Peps team selection. But the karma I would delight in the most is to actually beat them in the final of the Champs League. I'm looking at 2026!!

CTID COYB.

Early bookings, or sending offs, will do us absolutely no favours though, should they happen ...... we don't want players who are too scared to make a challenge or tackle for the remaining 80 minutes of the game!

It will be difficult enough job even if we manage to keep 11 men on the pitch!

Instead of 'mixing it' with Madrids players, who WILL make the most of any physical confrontation, we would be better off really focusing on the job in hand, staying tight at the back and in midfield, and trying to get that vital early goal !

If we don't concentrate 100%, they will be through us before we know it, and i doubt that Madrid will be kind enough to miss a pile of early chances again!

Yep, agreed ..... I can recall a city fan who went there to Real Madrid without a ticket, and had to watch the game in a bar somewhere near the Bernabau .... he was the only city fan in there, although the bar itself was quite busy .... we didn't even win the match, and he hadn't been rowdy, but a gang of them still followed him and 'jumped' him outside after he left the bar ... battering him and stealing all his personal belongings etc.

Real madrid players celebrated like theyd won tie after match in etihad last week ,i think theyve poked a bear, and i fancy us tonight, rearly do,got that strange feeling 4:2 city
They celebrated like they won n the last minute against a tough side away, after being behind twice. No different to our celebration in the 4-3 home game a few years ago.

I am warming to your thinking though and have a strange feeling the more the day goes on. I posted it before but as long as we compete to start with I will be happy with that. Hopefully it develops into a victory
