You can add a few more to that. I think 4 in a row and the Treble took a lot out of them - and rightly so. A season of might do some of them good - but a few are finished. Foden though is one that should have been the future for us. Hopefully just an off season for the lad.

Haaland is clearly injured, he won't be coming on, he travelled purely to keep the injury a secret. kdb isn't having an impact in this game, we can't get the ball into positions for him to be effective, he'll spend the entire half chasing shadows knackered himself out. And even if we could, he's got nothing to aim for ahead of him.

Bit of a disaster that half. 1 down after 4 mins (looked to me a bit like Mbappe give Dias a little push which sent him under the ball and he couldn't recover) and then Stones off injured after 7 mins. Defence very slow to react for their 2nd.

Going forward we've just continually made poor decisions, bad passes and pointless dribbles, all of which have lead to us losing the ball before we ever really get anywhere. Our forward players are never really in forward positions to worry their back line and despite pushing our attackers forward when their defence has the ball, there is no press whatsoever. They just stand a few yards off the opposition and wait for him to pass it into midfield with all the time and space he could want. On top of that, there really is no width.

Get Gundogan and Bernardo off and put Doku and Kovacic in their places, play with width and actually try to press their defence. if they play the ball over the top and score, so what? Better than just meekly walking to our deaths.

It's going to take a monumental shift to change this around but stranger things have happened.

There is width but the new lads have frozen, not even involved apart from Khusanov who is having the run around but doing OK.

Lack of creativity comes from the system imo. And we've had this issue last season, and even 22-23, aimless side-ways and backwards passing.
 
Real Madrid have some seriously good players and we’re suffering. It was always going to be a tough ask and so far we’re just not in it. I think we’re going to lose to the eventual winners. Frustratin, but better than going out to Brugge.

We lack quality and if this is the best Guardiola can do in terms of formation and preparing the team then he’s a big part of the problem as well.

Right up there with the poster claiming Haaland is a liability

We were one goal behind with everything to play for. Pep did us no favours by making us seem like we were already out before the match. I'm beginning to wonder if he can motivate this team to climb the mountain anymore.

Since this happens every other week it tells me it would be foolish to expect anything different tonight. This team is awful.
