We do need to spend big if we want to compete. We will need to land the likes of Wirtz to compete with this level of competition. Debruyne, Bernie, Gundog, Walker were all that level but now past it. We need top level investment to set us up for the next decade. Good start this window but that needs to be the start. Tall ask.

It should have started al least two seasons ago, at worst the season we let Gundog go.

We have guys that analyse every aspect of the game, but know one bothered to say KDB, Stones and Walker to name just three played less than 50% of games due to injury.

You can't continue to rely on players who are in decline. This year it's all caught up with us at once.

Our recruitment over the last three season hasn't compared to the players who left or are in decline.

Fair play to Madrid they have bossed and bullied us. Barca hammered them with their possession based game this season and I think Pep thought we could do it to, but we are too lightweight and just don't have the legs or pace to compete. We need a plan b now as many teams have now found a way to nullify and overrun us. I'm sure Pep will find a way to get us back to the top table but it won't be this season unfortunately.

I'll be honest and no doubt I'll get pelters. As much as love the bloke. If pep decided to leave at the end of the season. Some new, fresh ideas from a new manager may well be something we need.

I’ve thought long and hard about this and I’m confident he’s still the man to rebuild this team. Each season he’s changed or tweaked something to allow us to be different. First it was wide flying wingers, then inverted full backs, the next season we played with a false 9, then it was Haaland upfront and us playing off him. I trust him to solve this next puzzle. He’s got more than enough credit in the bank for me at the moment despite this season being a nightmare.

On Pep this (yet again). There’s seemingly no limit to the number of times he’s intending to play Gundogan and Bernie together this season, despite the fact that they can’t run anymore. Madrid are going past Gundogan at walking speed FFS. We can’t get any sort of foothold in the game cos of those two, with the result that Foden, Savinho and Marmoush are continually isolated.
As for the high line back four, against the quickest attacking quartet on the planet, I’ve seldom seen such stupidity.

We met them in mid April last season and were starting to look tired, and this year we meet them in February and already look tired. At this rate, just hope we can avoid them in the autumn.
