Real Madrid (A) | CL | Post Match Thread

A totally shapeless and dejected looking City side there tonight for long periods.
The difference in pace and power in the two sides was stark.
Gonzalez wasn't bad but had little around him to support him.
I had hope all day after watching Celtic last night thinking the tie wasn't over and if we dug in and defended well we could have a chance, that lasted for 3 minutes and one punt upfield that had Dias and Ederson all over the fucking shop.

Glad that the CL campaign is over now to be honest. Put us out of our misery. Lets hope the new faces can get blooded in until the end of the season now.
Exactly mate, which is why we need to go with who is going to be around next season now.

I also think the player and manager knew it was done last week when we conceded those last two goals.

Two thirds of that game was trying to avoid a hammering and keeping players fresh for Sunday.

Totally agree. More than likely will happen as well come summer. Tough shit on those who can't accept it as well
yup...some people dont want to admit that its time the legends in thsi squad were moved on....

the two single biggest mistakes we can make for the rest of this season and summer is reknewing KDB's contract, keeping Gundo and not replacing one of either Ake or Stones. - we can carry one injury crock - not two

Jeez is Pep not allowed an off season by his standards after all he’s done for us??
Agree.
Absolutely ludicrous self entitlement calling for the head of one of the best managers ever as we haven't won one of the big trophies for the first time in 5 years.
There's a rebuild just begun and we should be grateful that he wants to be part of it.

He warned several times that it would be a season to suffer and that it would get worse

Didn't expect to go through after the first leg but still disappointed. But Madrid are doing what they do best, they'll hit their stride by the quarters and end up in the final. Probably smart to not bring the big guns on, let's hope we get a result Sunday. Stones injured again is just ridiculous.

Nice to see crybaby vinicius not getting the limelight though. Compared to mbappe he didn't shine, and you just know that will eat away at him. Kylian to win the ballon d'Or before him, what a hissy fit that would create.

we dont

No need - you cant revive something that is clinically dead as this team is.....

what needs to be done is ruthless change in the summer getting rid of some legends - people need to accept this.
I think if people want to question Pep for picking Gundo AND Bernardo again then fair enough. Everyone knows we can’t play two of them. Could have played Doku or Grealish on the left, Sav on the right, Marmoush with Foden behind. Instead it was another match of having no legs in the middle. Even Nunes would have played better than Silva tonight and that’s not reactive, it’s not a shock, it is highly predictable and everyone can see it other than Pep.

Don’t get me wrong, I love Pep, but people are within their rights to question him right now

He used to be able to take a pass on the half turn and be away up the pitch, he seems to be receiving the ball with his back to goal now and has no clue whether an opposition player is close to him or not, so even when he’s got space behind him he’s already played the ball away. Absolutely woeful and ann incredible loss of form, he’s been utter wank all season.
He’s lazy and that pisses me off. He’s as talented as any player we have, but it means fuck all when he sulks around the pitch, scared to try and influence it and just doesn’t work. Knew he was coming off and suddenly had a 2/3 minute spell where he looked alive.

we need to spend £600m in the summer: 3 defenders and 3 midfielders as a minimum.
Proper full backs, a new keeper, replace some of our injury prone defenders and midfielders who can press and have pace to compliment Rodri and Nico and some much needed upgrades to our coaching staff.
