big proof and lesson to learn with him and Gundo of keeping and re-signing players past their best. we need to be clever and let them go just before they go downhill and of course bring in the replacement in the previous season already.

it requires very good forward planning squad building which Txiki completely shat on since years. gross misconduct imo for Txiki.

Tonight was proof that he will likely leave in the summer.
Why? He's a moments player now, we didn't need a moment in that game, we were never in it.

Bringing him on for 20-30 minutes in games where we're chasing and pushing for a goal, theres nobody better in the game than kdb.

If kdb is comfortable with that role, there's no reason to get rid. Look at how Modric is used for Madrid over the past 5 years now, obviously not the same kind of player but the idea of having a limited use player in the ranks of his quality for certain situations is similar.

Exactly. Game was lost after 4 minutes. Save him for when it matters.

Think it was a case tonight that KDB had rested v Newcastle and Pep had him on the bench to use later. When we conceded after 4 minutes and again before 30 the tie was dead and pointless bringing him on.
Play him v Liverpool but have the other 2 plodders nowhere near.

2-0 at halftime is considered dead !

He should brought KDB & Doku after half time to try to do something instead of giving up.

I was surprised he didn't start, but after conceding early yet again, in something he wouldn't have been able to stop, in hindsight it's probably as well he didn't.

I will demand he starts Sunday though, and get one last big push off the lad to finish our season as best we can, as everyone knows he will try, unlike a few others

I would say that even the stronger City of a few years ago relied on KdB and Rodri plus maybe Stones to be the stand outs at the absolute top level like RM away.
