Jeez is Pep not allowed an off season by his standards after all he’s done for us??

Pep deserves to put this right and as enough credit in the bank to do that, however he also as to be accountable for some of the woeful choices of players he keeps picking and keep playing a high line defence when they are crippled constantly.

I trust him to get this team back to something that resembles the team of a couple of seasons back.

yup...some people dont want to admit that its time the legends in thsi squad were moved on....

the two single biggest mistakes we can make for the rest of this season and summer is reknewing KDB's contract, keeping Gundo and not replacing one of either Ake or Stones. - we can carry one injury crock - not two

I think Gundo will stay as his extension will get triggered based on games played. He’s hot a young kid that he won’t want to move again within 12 months

KDB is certain to go, look at his highlights from the home Madrid game, he must know he’s finished. Pep hasn’t given him a look in since which would have been inconceivable 12 months ago

Grealish will also go as he’s another that either doesn’t perform or can’t stay fit

I think everyone else will stay , we just don’t force players out unless they are bad for team spirit like cancelo

Whether anyone will force a move is anyone’s guess

We desperately need another world class player in midfield , someone like David Silva , someone that not only gets assists but is master of the pre assist like Silva was - is Wirtz on his level ?

it wasnt 4-4-2 - it was an attempt at a return to false 9 or if you want 4-6-0

however mamoush and sav clearly couldnt play it. - if Haaland pulled out this morning then that wouldnt have been a lot of time to train a new system

people dont want to see it but it IS the personnel - those on the pitch and those not - this is where the team has dropped off

Gundo - awful - he has had one good game this season
Bernardo - one of my favourite players ever but his race is run
Stones - made of glass
KDB unavailable but i suspect had he even been fit it would have actually been worse certainly from a defensive point of view.
No walker or a replacement - zero criticism of Khusonov who equipped himself quite well BUT he aint world class as of this moment and no one could expect him to be

now take those players plus rodri back 3 years - not injured, prime of playing career -add them back into that team and you see the differece.....

Rebuild needed

It was a 4-4-2. Marmoush and Savinho were 20 yards ahead of that four line base midfield at times in the first half. It was nonsensical. They were isolated and totally ineffectual as a result.

Throw in two midfielders that are busted in that four, and one that can't be arsed, and we never stood a chance with that selection.

At least go out fighting, get some width on and try to create.

it does beg the question as to why we have dropped so far. It can't be one man (Rodri), can it? I think its just the game has changed. Teams have gotten more pacey. Counter attack us more effectively. This and our plodding offense. Teams just sit back and say, "oh this again? Nah, we're fit. We can handle 65/35 possession. Meantime, you can't run and we'll counter you to death".

If Rodri hadn’t got injured we wouldn’t have been as polite as we have been but we’ve been overly complacent

I tell you what, the fact they took nearly a minute to confirm Nico was onside was scandalous. He was miles on because of Mendy on the floor. Add to the fact they didn’t VAR check the penalty.

We stick to players who are well past it, Gundo, Bernie, Walker, KDB.

No sentiment in football. Best time to improve the squad is whilst your still at top not when things have imploded like they have this season.

I will be more depressed if we beat Liverpool and somehow arsenal managed to win the league

I think if people want to question Pep for picking Gundo AND Bernardo again then fair enough. Everyone knows we can’t play two of them. Could have played Doku or Grealish on the left, Sav on the right, Marmoush with Foden behind. Instead it was another match of having no legs in the middle. Even Nunes would have played better than Silva tonight and that’s not reactive, it’s not a shock, it is highly predictable and everyone can see it other than Pep.

Don’t get me wrong, I love Pep, but people are within their rights to question him right now

I agree, it’s mental that he doesn’t give Nunes more minutes in the middle, absolutely pointless playing Gundo and Bernie, even if Nunes is not good enough he may as well get played.

If ever a player knows he needs to move on, he may as well.

We literally could shift Kev, Bernie, Gundo, Nunes and Kovacic this summer. Crazy.

It’s not just that though is it, we have lost 13 games and been woeful most of the season.Only Peps credit in the bank is keeping him in a job, every other top team would be tempted to pull the trigger

Add to the pot that he has never had to build a team from scratch in his career ever before.

He's always been blessed with having top top players then adding top players to the team.

He's in uncharted territory next season. How long will his "credit" last. If we drop points in 5 of our first 12 games???

If our owners have aspirations of staying at the top of the table, which I'm pretty damn sure that are then surely the conversation will be had upstairs.
