It seems to me that if that is the position of the US government, then there is no need for them to have any troops in any European country or military bases in the overseas territories of European countries. Close them down and expel their troops.

First: Europe gives more to Ukraine that the US - about 60%-40% and the percentage split was due to increase this year to about 70%-30% probably 100% Europe from now on.
Second: You don't treat an ally like Trump has just done with Zelensky/Ukraine.
Third: you don't negotiate with Putin by surrendering as Trump has just done.
Fourth. Russia is in serious trouble economically and is running out of Stuff to stand a chance of winning this war. The offensive has clearly slowed to a crawl. Indeed Russia is starting to lose a little ground in many places now.

For three years president Zelenskyy has led Ukraine in standing up to Putin’s aggression and he is fighting for sovereignty, freedom and our values. The UK must provide leadership on defence spending increasing and work with our European and Nato allies to step up on defence and security.

Badenoch as Leader of the Official Opposition is a benchmark of our decline as a civilized country.
