Save Our Ruben Interim

Rags spending policy is based on being in the chumps league 4 years out of five. They are up to their neck in debt with players on over the top salaries. So no Europe next season. Ionos are also in massive debit
So happy days ahead for the rags unable to attract anyone to the club. Happy days ahead.

Their budget was based on:
  • Finishing in the top four
  • Getting to the CL R16
  • Getting to the QF of the League & FA Cup
Missing out on the CL is the one that hurts them most financially but they still pull in nearly £4m every home game, so 10 games in the Europa League will still bring in some cash, even though they get less in prize money.

2014/15 was the last season they had no European football but unless they win the Europa League or FA Cup, they'll be without it again next season. They're already strapped for cash so no European football next season could be game-changing for their finances from 2025/26.

And the best thing is that in June 2027 they have to refinance the first tranche of the secured borrowing undertaken by the Glazers, which is currently stated at £332m and on which they're paying 3.79% per annum. They can probably expect to pay nearly double that I reckon, unless interest rates drop dramatically between now and then, particularly if they're seen to be struggling financially. Tick fucking tock.

You know what'll happen though
They'll scrape their way to a Thursday night cup win which will qualify them for next year's CL
It's inevitable as they're proper scabby bastards
If they put their hand down a toilet full of shit, they'd come out holding a Mars bar

Won't you take me to...
To Grimsby Town?
Won't you take me to...
To Shrewsbury Town?

United have lost £300m over the last three seasons, an average of £100m per season. Just to break even they need to find that £100m from somewhere. Add the interest onto that added debt, less money from Europe, less games from European competition, reduced sponsorship and less prize money from finishing further down the league so where exactly can they find ANY money to buy more players?
Amorim is safe, they can't afford to sack him.

Some of you lot need to have a serious word with yourselves.

I've just had a word with a Mod and apparently some of you have posts stored in your drafts folder such as
'Save Our Gareth Southgate' others are
Save Our Bryan Riggs and 2 of you, you know who you are, have Save our Gary Neville.
Stop it, Amorins our man, he deserves 100% support.

At least until they lose against Ipswich.

I genuinely can't believe they're calling for Amorim's head already. I think a serious shift of focus is needed, clearly it can't be the fault of manager after manager, especially as some of those have been trophy winners literally just prior to rolling up at united, so I think they really have to accept that relegation is what the club actually needs.

If that means they have to throw a few games to ensure they finish in the bottom three then the fans should get onboard. Once on the championship, Amorim and the quality of player they have will storm to the league title, restoring the confidence they need to mount a serious title challenge in 2026/27.

They can't just keep sacking managers, and they have to be wondering why such expensive, sought after players turn to drivel as soon as they put on the red kit. They have to try something different, relegation worked for City, worked for Villa, and we certainly didn't have a manager of the caliber of Amorim or players or the quality of De Light and, erm, someone else.

Relegation is the way forward. Take a hit now to be reborn the Phoenix, as much as it may hurt just take the next exit from the premier league and pull off in to paradise. Plus, the wave of national euphoria at their inevitable promotion again means the government couldn't possibly deny funds for a new stadium, they could discover the best players in the lower leagues by playing them each week, and even have a chance to win a trophy or two that they've not won before.
Phoenix ?
Are you suggesting they play for the Brian Potter Eleven ?
Or will they be contesting the Fenix Trophy against the brave, deprived Moston Miniscules ?

The squad and management are clearly not PL standard if relegated there is no guarantee that they will have sufficient quality to come straight back up.

I don't understand why you think that relegation would solve all their problems to the extent that they would get promoted and then "mount a serious title challenge in 2026/27" When was the last time a promoted team make such a challenge

Which relegation worked for City? There was a period that we played in a different "division" each season?

Nonsense. Relegation is the best thing for them. If they can't win in the premier league they should do the fans a favour and drop down a division so they can win every week. I'm sure every city fan agrees.

Wink, wink. Nudge, nudge.

The seasons between promotion under Keegan and Sven taking over were mostly a struggle.

You're wasting your time. There's been a dreadful apathy on here re our various campaigns down the years. I don't know why; perhaps they want the rags to get a decent manager.
TBF they've had a few decent managers - Moyes, Mad Louis, Mourinho. Guys who have done well elsewhere. It's just that the whole club is shit :-)
