Liverpool (H) | PL | Post Match Thread

I'm struggling to pick the bones out of that game today probably because I'm pissed, a few points we 100% need a right back, kev the king is ( I don't want to say it ) we look completely lost without Haaland doku murdered trent but never looked like getting any goal attempts, I do fuckin hate scoucers, the end of an era is clear for us all to see I look forward to witnessing the new one in.
See you all wed night
We don't really know if it's the end of an era or not. If we were to add Stones, Rodri and Haaland, I think that game might look completely different.

We have added quality players to our squad in Doku, Savinho and Khusanov and I think Marmoush will prove to be a good signing too.

Does anyone know why their pass back to Alisson was just waved on by the ref? Am I missing something technical which means him kicking the ball towards his own keeper, who then picked it up, isn't a pass back.

I'm not saying it had any bearing on the game but, as a football coach myself, I can't see how it's anything other than a pass back.
I'll be honest with you. It wasn't a pass back.

The amount of fans that don't know the basics is baffling.

I was arguing with my mate earlier who was convinced they were offside from the first pass of the corner that they scored from!!

I watched on TV and in the build up before the corner was given Diaz looked offside but that is possibly clutching at straws.

We're entering encharted territory where teams don't even fear us again, the Etihad fortress, the air of invincibility, the spirit of the team is slowly being stripped away, this is why the rhetoric of 'next season we'll be better', 'we'll have a summer overhaul' is dangerous, we are doing serious damage to our 'Aura' 'Atmosphere' 'brand' whatever you want to call it.

Call me arrogant or plastic, but this season is not acceptable, dropping a few levels is understandable especially when you take into account injuries, mental fatigue etc, but falling off a cliff? Something is amiss.

Said it before, I'll say it again, team is not playing for him anymore.
Uncharted territory. You can call the season unacceptable if you like but we have been hit by injuries. We know that we should have bought in the Summer rather than in January but at least we have bought players.

I look forward to seeing Echeverri and Bobb.

Foden’s never been an all time city great, & unlikely will be he’s been horrendous all season, kdb will always have that honour although he’s time is done, along side David silva the ultimate quality wise
Fodens been unbelievable the last 5 years or so. And the fact he's one of us and cost nowt makes it even sweeter. Can he be put in the same bracket as Spanish Dave and Kev, NO(well not yet anyway)but this season apart, the lads been sensational for us. I just wish I knew what the fucks wrong with him this season.

100% this. Lewis is like the opposition’s best defender when we get into the final third. Absolutely fucking clueless.
I think he's one of our only players looking to go forward and is brave on the ball.

All about opinions!

I remember saying that I thought Javi Garcia and Nastasic would be very good players for City... :-/

But there again, I remember a fair few blues saying, in their first seasons', that David Silva and Rodri wouldn't ever be good enough for us. So it could have been worse!

Not sure about that, the dippers are way better than the rest this season but they are not a young team and their key players are over 30. They have peaked and they won't spend big going forward, the rest are actually getting worse, so give Pep a chance a season like this was always going to happen and the rebuild is already well under way.
Salah and VVD, although truly exceptional players, can't stop the march of time - both reliant on pace. Their support acts are not at their level.

I'm on about the actual corner
When I told him you can't be offside from a corner he thought I was making shit up!!

He was actually no threat at all, zero end product, and not improving either, he excites briefly, then fails miserably virtually every time, drives me mad, certainly has no "end product".

He played well until the minute he needed to deliver something useful.
As opposed to who exactly ? Even Savinho disappeared in the second half. Apart from those two, we had nothing going forward. Most of the crowd would have fallen asleep if it wasn't for our wingers today.

It has to be intentional. And to be fair that wasn't intentional. He just hammered it with his foot. The ball could have gone anywhere.

We can all speculate. My guess is that Phil, partner and kids are the only normal ones in the wider family.

I'll be honest with you. It wasn't a pass back.
See, that's not an explanation. He knew he had no choice but to kick the ball towards his keeper, who then chose to pick it up. That's a pass back. The intention was there from both the passing player and the receiving keeper. I get that sometimes a defender may go in for a challenge and the ball spills back to the keeper who collects it, but that wasn't the case here.

No...liverpool knew what they were doing...they habe the best player in the world and can defend to save their lives.

Was that at the back of 217?

The Stewards also removed 2 lads in their 20's a bit later too.

Fucking cunts, I hate them

Still people on here say them over Arse, fucking unbelievable.

All the stunts they have pulled over the last few years just because we were better than them.

I can only assume the Blues who want them to win it over Arse are non match going fans and are also immune to their fucking antics.
I only don’t want Arsenal winning owt because I want City to overtake Arsenal as the third most successful club in the country.

I will take absolutely no fucking joy whatsoever in Liverpool winning the league.

Bobb has done f'all in a City shirt, he's not the messiah some of you make him out to be.

Echeverri's been playing in South America on a diet of Pasada and burritos, he's not ready physically to make a difference.

Both players will need time and minutes.

Our best spell was upto the offside goal. Then Taylor happily game managed it with MacAllister and we lost all momentum. We weren't the same after.

Scouse bastards weren't anything special despite the smoke being blown up their arses.

Us and arsenal handed them this title on a platter because our players are fucked and they are bottling it as usual.

Salah and VVD were imperious today absolutely class above everything else… Dippers would be mad to let them go because everything in the boxes revolves around them and today they were the difference… if both had been in blue rather than red then we win that game

As for us - I thought Kushanov was excellent, I was surprised Dias didn’t get more change out of Rico (I think Rico did well)… Doku was a conundrum his approach play was first rate but is end product is non-existent, whilst Liverpool defensively were superb he clearly went past Trent over 10 times and I don’t remember him finding a blue shirt once which is extremely disappointing
