Away fans / tourists in home sections

Plymouth might be different on Sunday.

Plenty of posts saying Plymouth fans are buying tickets in all parts of the ground, if it's true?
Plymouth have a very slow sales criteria. They have only sold 50% of there tiks..and not on general sale till weds. Not much mention on their forums of mass buying in the city end

I don't condone violence.

But, at the weekend I noticed a chap screaming at Salah in the warm up (front of 115) - after an argument with fans around him and then with stewards he was removed.

Given that there was people having their haircut v RM - wearing a provocative flag, holding scissors, with electronic items in the ground the other week and now this 'tourist' or Liverpool fan getting slapped around - the club need to have a look at themselves.

It sounds link A drama reaction, but the club seriously needs to look at how they got in - last thing football needs is an Arena style incident or a mass crowd brawl on camera.

Looking at the video, some of the stewards took a fair few digs too. People will be getting lifted for that too.

It's just not worth getting involved these days. If the clubs own cameras don't pick you out the countless fans filming it and sticking it online will. It can be difficult not to act on impulse when someone is winding you up but you'll be looking at a banning order and at the minimum a fine as well.

100% Tim. I was there all through the division 2 days. We absolutely proved ourselves then and rightly got plaudits for it. There will still 35000/40000 loyalists week in week out, we are a huge club. The difference for me to then and now though is we were anti establishment, anti rags, we revelled in it and there was a perverse enjoyment and pride to it. We are now at the top table (albeit in a sort of villainous role for the red tops) and we cannot put that genie back in the bottle. If we do slip away on the pitch I cannot be only one thinking it could be a hard fall. The red tops loving media help to keep those tourist traps clubs flourishing. I don’t think we would be afforded the same luxury. I might be way off in that assessment, and we will probably remain in and around the top now anyway,(we are allowed an off season)but it does concern me that we are relying more and more on floating support.
Top post. I agree we have revelled when being the underdogs dishing out a few licks and that still happens now and then. This Forum unites when we have given the establishment a kicking in the Courtroom and we have found an unlikely hero in Lord Pannick. Equally as tenacious as Paul Dickov in his own way.

The Club's admin / management can't take our support for granted but our history has been built on loyalty. I think a season card price freeze is long overdue and targeted measures are needed to help sustain our next generations of fans.

Guy definitely didn't deserve what happened to him

But I wonder how the hell you end up in the area of the stadium where the most passionate home support is and you just have zero understanding of your surroundings
Maybe a few more bellend tourists will see the video and think twice

Speaking to a mate who works as security and was there yesterday.

Probably already mentioned but the club did apparently make efforts to decline tickets being bought with Liverpool post codes. Seems to be an issue whereby season ticket holders are reselling their tickets for double or triple the price.

Not sure if this is actually what’s happening.
how can they do this if ticket is on your mobile ? certainly wouldn't give my mobile to anyone

It’s getting worse. Games like yesterday are becoming a joke. Tourists with Japanese flags trying to get the attention of Endo and celebrating him coming on. Others constantly videoing Salah. I don’t blame the fans, they are coming to watch the supposed best league and players in the world and making the most of their big day out, possibly without appreciating the norms of English football. However for me, it’s killing the atmosphere and not what I signed up for, the club clearly doesn’t care and with the removal of season tickets etc is actively encouraging it.

Tim,freezing season ticket prices would be great but to be honest season ticket holders are probably a small percentage of our support.
Lots of City non season ticket holders can't afford £70 plus.

I would cut the price of match day tickets mate. The prices are exorbitant. I have mentioned on here my ideas before including cutting remaining adult tickets on the third tier to £30 a few days before the game.

Dropping the price so near the game is great but for us fans that travel long distances it still doesn't work us ! But it would be great for locals.

I hope that happens Tim. There is a groundswell of opinion in the fan base ATM that I hope hits the mark with people who make decisions. The club has got a lot right this last 10 years, it’s been some ride. There is no need for it end, just need to listen to the support and make sure they are not feeling more and more sidelined.

Good point mate. Ticket prices become very reasonable on the Face Value pages the closer it gets to a game. People travelling from further afield could game on getting affordable tickets mate.

You can just transfer it to anyone in your friends and family. Buying a membership so you've got a supporter number is easy enough, there's no checks on who you're transferring to

I doubt it's seasoncard holders selling on, flexi golds the most likely to be touting as you can sell ahead of the three week window and then just buy for games you've sold already

More seasoncards, even if it's just for kids to start going with their parents, is the way forward. Forcing flexi gold just breeds bad behaviours

Sadly the club has taken bad advice, likely from our fans who had a particular issue they wanted tackling

1. The mythical points whores was an issue blown way out of proportion that resulted in the loyalty points going.

2. An overreaction to the empty seats jibes from other teams fans and the childish media who fan those flames. So what if someone can't go and left the seat unfilled, that's their prerogative.

Now we are left with no new seasoncards for 6 years and the flexi gold which yes, there are less empty seats but as this thread shows, at far more damaging cost than "banter" online

The extra cost of flexi gold is what leads people to buy them and sell them on, it was so short sighted

Clearly the club wants people who come two or three times a year, a mass rotation of day trippers, but whoever pushed the above, you just validated them and allowed them to push it through

Both the loyalty points removal for away games and Flexi gold have proved to be a disaster

It is really easy to do

I have three season tickets and when my daughter does not come to the match I can easily send it to any other account I have

It comes as an email with a link for the ticket

Send that onto whoever buying the ticket

Everyone thinks it is clever to have etickets

They are easier to sell on than old season cards were

That could've ended up real bad for that kid if not for those stewards
Yeah. Totally ridiculous overreaction if that’s all he did. Even if not. That many piling in on one lad?

Just out of interest are the buyers on the FB pages all vetted? Same for tickets sold on here, are they vetted? What’s to stop them buying them and selling them on?

I see the same touts outside the ground who have been doing it since MR days. Cops are sometimes 10 yards away and just seem to turn a blind eye.
