Away fans / tourists in home sections

I would beware the opinions expressed in this thread because most are assumptions. Liverpool has always been a game where Scousers would get everywhere. I remember this from Maine Rd, and in my block there wasn't 1 incident of a Liverpool fan celebrating in our block. And that's in 600 people.

What is true though is that in midweek Cup games, a lot of seasoncard holders are no-showing and they are being replaced by another group. A lot of assumptions are being made about this group. IMO, they are locals. Others call them tourists but they can't evidence this.
Well I’m pretty sure the 50 middle aged Chinese people being ushered into EL1 yesterday by Mandarin speaking guides wearing tour company hiviz vests hadn’t just jumped on the tram from Faulkner Street!

1894 haven't done the Talkshite show yet, and City fans (on Blue Moon) are already moaning about it.

The only way it seems to get the clubs attention is to go public it appears, I don't see how they could have done anything else.

Good luck to 'em fighting our cause.

I gatecrashed something similar years ago at OT before my works Christmas party, which was being held at Old Trafford.

Bladdered, I walk on to a coach parked up outside the Stratford End. It was full of Chinese tourists who had been to the match. I started singing... "who the fuck are Man United" at the front of the coach. The driver eventually told me to get off the coach.

Exactly.

At least give them a chance.

There's too many people on here who want to pile in straightaway with negativity. Yet, they won't do anything themselves to stand up for City fans in public.

Going public on issues always comes with a risk. But sometimes it's worth that risk.

People say it will look bad on the club.

That's the whole fucking point :)

Talk Shite know it's a PL problem, not just a problem at City. The show is highlighting the problems at City. Yes, there will be teasing and belittling questions asked during the show, but you wouldn't expect anything less from Talk Shite. The point of the show is to highlight the problems that are going on at City. (and at other PL grounds)

You're probably right. But I am arsed, as are the majority of other fans.

Just ruins the matchday atmosphere which, I'm not sure about others, is a huge part of going to City games.

IMO anyway. Could be overthinking/overcomplicating it. But give me the 21/22 and 22/23 Real Madrid atmospheres over the shite that it was a couple of weeks ago.
The singing section did a grand job second half yesterday when it became evident we were getting fook all from the match.

Mandarin speaking guides you say. Is this a crime or evidence of some tourist takeover? This topic is embarrassing and it will not be long before Man Utd fans and the media find it. Just to make clear, not all City fans support this. This is on the 1894 Group.

I’m sure one of the first couple of questions will be why are so many city fans reselling their tickets and why aren’t other city fans buying them

Who said it’s City fans reselling their tickets?

It’s most likely the club’s policy of putting the pool of matchday tickets on their worldwide ticket tout partner sites. Plus, the club not reopening lapsed season tickets as season tickets again and adding them to that^ pool (6,000 season tickets have been lost to this in the last 5 years alone).

They can use my example, where the seat next to me used to be a season ticket, now it isn’t, but mates have tried to buy that seat for individual games and it’s never on sale through City’s ticket website even when it’s gone empty for the game. Yet when it is taken up, it’s always a tourist and they’re from far and wide around the world and half the time they aren’t City fans.

If it is City fans not buying tickets that are being relisted, they can show the examples of sky high ticket prices at City of £73-88 for adults in every tier of every stand (at Anfield PL adult tickets range from £9-68 and are never above £68 for non-hospitality tickets for any category game anywhere in the ground), they can show how it’s £43-58 for children’s tickets at City in every tier in every stand (yet £9 everywhere bar one tier of one stand for every PL game at Anfield)… showing that we are being priced out.

They can also show how there’s no categorising of fans like you get for away games. So as soon as games go on sale, anyone from anywhere can get a membership and buy a ticket for any match (whereas at Liverpool people with an ‘L’ post code can buy tickets a week earlier than anyone else can around the world).

Might be easier asking for the seat numbers of City fans. Everyone of our big group of blues is bored shitless of what we have become, many ready to call it a day, the match day experience is abysmal
Ha ha,

At least it's good to know tourists fuck of early just like the proper fans :-)

Btw, the problem with your Username is the 2 L's in Helen.

I've just realised what it says and must admit I, always thought is was something along the lines of "Father be .... something or other".

I never read it all until now.

Wasn't she know as Big Helen rather than Fat Helen though?

TBH Marvin, I don't think your support will be missed.

1894 have enough support amongst City's fan base.

Why are you bothered about United fans finding it? If they do? They may have already found it?

I don't think anybody else is arsed about that apart from you.

Yes maybe if a £40 ticket wasn't sold on for £75 then we'd be ok
I don’t agree with the £75 fee but that is the fee set out at the start of the season. So I’ve said previously before ticket exchange people didn’t go and we got abuse for empty seats so now if you don’t want to go the club will re sell your seat. City fans are getting the opportunity to buy it. It’s not as if city are selling to non city fans on purpose and I reckon that’s the way talk sport will dress it up
