Away fans / tourists in home sections

Brilliant, the club are going to try and blame it on the fans then. What a bunch of wankers we have running the club.
This inability to accept that individuals (who may or may not be fans) are selling on tickets, and the club (who do investigate have access to the data) is staggering. It's the same as those who think that all Blues are angels and would never commit any sort of offence.

Many can't see the problem with the 'Face Value Only' sites. For one they're operating illegally as the law stands currently. That's not to say the criminal law is right but it's currently the law.

For another thing, is 'face value' the season ticket divided by 19 or the club's selling price for that seat? If it's the latter then people are profiting. There's posters who moan that they only get 1/19th of their season card price while the club sells tickets at far higher prices yet don't condemn these 'face value only' sites for exactly the same thing.

F Scott Fitzgerald said it was the sign of a first-rate intelligence to hold two completely opposing ideas in your head at the same time and still retain the ability to function. It seems there's a lot of fucking geniuses on this forum in that case.

But, as I said, we need a proper conversation with the club about this, and I'm not sure they're capable of doing that.

Has anyone else had the fan survey from the club today?

Yeah I got it had a big rant in answer to what have the club done that is negative recently, it will get completely ignored but made me feel better at the time.

Offered my services to the City Matters question aswell but caveated it with I highly doubt im the kind of person they would like to be involved with it.

When are the group on talksport? Said 11:15 in that post, yet at the minute Jim and Jordan are talking about scruffy Jim turning into a horrible tight ****

Individuals aren't selling blocks of tickets to away fans.

Yep. Talks**** making the most of this negativity against our club. It’s all due to ticket prices that is causing “tourists” to take up tickets from the “old faithful fans”. Nothing to do with our extraordinary success.
If this had been the rags - it would have been because they are such a great team to watch that everyone from all over the world wants to see them play. But not us. It’s the clubs fault.

However, as per, Jordan supporting the staffing & money saving actions by ratface. Can’t do anything wrong on that side of the fence.

Anyone can buy a matchday membership. They could be a genuine City fan of course but they could also be a tout, or just someone wanting to make a few quid selling on tickets for big games. This blind faith that it's not fans but the club really is a problem. There are some who simply refuse to believe a word the club says or assume the worst case scenario without a shred of evidence to support their view.

I do agree the club is part of the problem, certainly by authorising a number of partners to sell tickets as part of hospitality packages, as well as not being too careful who it sells hospitality packages to directly. And there are probably other things it could do better.

We aren't a local club anymore, we're a global attraction these days and people need to understand what comes with that. Personally I'm ok with people who aren't City fans having the opportunity of coming to watch us, in the same way I could go a watch a game at another club I'm not a fan of. There's plenty on here who have done that, me included. We can't have it both ways but that's what some on here seem to want.

What we need is for the club to go back to first principles on how it sells tickets and have a genuinely honest and transparent two-way conversation with the fans. The problem is that the club does things that go wrong, then tell the fans, including City Matters, afterwards.

There's a technique in the business analysis field I work in called 'The 7 So-Whats'. It's poorly named as the 'So What" isn't an expression of disinterest but more like "Well if we do that, what's the outcome?" It's also called Second-Order Thinking. The problem is that the only 'So What' question the club asks itself is how much money will we make by doing this. That is unlikely to change while people like Ferrari Soriano and Roel De Vries are running the show.

Nice summary. All successful clubs attract tourists but it seems many folk want us to go back to the bad old days when we weren’t a global attraction

Needed to mention the fact that no new season tickets have been released for years and people are giving them up.
It's very difficult to land all your points when you're limited by time and Jordan is parroting on. I thought that went better than I expected, insofar as Jordan actually agreed with some of Loukas's points (that's a result in itself). Of course, he also had to go and side with the club and clubs in general though for maximising revenues in any way they can which was quite predictable but it wasn't the hatchet job on the fans from Jordan that I feared.

Jordan doesn't give a shit about match going fans , people jump through hoops for tickets , here's Simon way

Simon " Hi it's Simon , can I have 2 tickets for Saturday"

Palace " Yes they'll be at reception"

Simon " see you Saturday"

That wouldn’t explain why there are whole rows full of away fans?

Exactly mate, there can only be one possible reason how so many people got tickets to sit with all of their friends, and of course bring anything through the barrier.

It's like the stewards have been asked to wave them through, never thought I would see the day when blues did indeed become 2nd class citizens in their own ground.

Not sure blocking L postcodes would deter Liverpool fans :>
I've told the story before about FC Wimbledon, when they drew Liverpool at home in the FA Cup. The police warned the CEO that Liverpool fans were well known for doing anything they could to get tickets or otherwise gain entry to the stadium.

So he set up a cordon around the ground so you couldn't get near the turnstiles unless you produced a valued ticket. He drove into the car park, got out of his car and the first person he encountered (inside the cordon) was a Liverpool fan asking for tickets.
