Away fans / tourists in home sections

Thanks -

But.....my point is,that Away Match season tickets would ONLY be sold to accredited City fans (less accredited employees/sponsors).

Demand would exceed supply, thus requiring an 'individual quota allocation' to ensure a fair distribution and no monopolisation.

UnusableTickets to be reallocated via an Away Season Ticket portal ONLY.

NO SALE, RESALES or ALLOCATIONs to any THIRD PARTY AGENCIES !!

Would this be workable and fair ??
No allocation to third party agencies would be the first action if it was my choice. However it is claimed these licenced touts help shift tickets for less popular home games and get a share of the away tickets as a reward.
I'd get rid of them altogether and stand or fall on our own merits. It's not as though we need hundreds of ticket office staff to deal with additional in-house sales as 95% are done online.

Only if u buy platinum and join all cup schemes! However, season on season, high pointers (those above 25k for instance) are dropping down the pecking order when away criteria announced. Why? Because more away tiks for bigger games are being offered to 'tourists' .
Most of those on high points are in all schemes and buy more points on platinum so really difficult to make much headway. I used to be in 2nd or 3rd window for the bigger games now it’s fingers crossed time.

I have seen a few times away fans excorted out , but what are the rules inside Etihad when are someone throw out is it celebrating a goal from the away site enough are there any ground rules

On livefootballtickets.com I just searched for Spuds tickets for tonight.
You can now buy
2 tickets in block 114 - away (City) block nearest the goal for £130 each
and
2 tickets in block 254 - home (Spuds) block right behind the goal at £625 each

There's tickets available all over in home sections

City v Brighton?
2 tickets in 116 for £175 each.

The derby?
2 tickets in E231 for £375 each.

Shows how easy it is for a true tourist with a pocketful of cash wanting the EPL "experience" can get tickets.

Players and staff need their away allocation removing for starters. They should have allocation for home games but away be left to actual fans. Would love to know how many each get, even a couple each soon adds up. Then for someone at City to monitor these sites and the handful of aways that pop up they find out the ticket details, then ban the owner. Is that too easy?

Maybe a daft question but would you need a supporter number to use these tickets ?

Nope

Just seen away section tickets for Forest away on there. I was gutted that I just missed out on this as it sold out just before my window.

Do you just get the ticket emailed to you and then you add to your wallet or android equivalent?

I'd be careful buying tickets from some of some these sites. Not all of them will actually have the tickets - some will only try and source them after you've stumped up the cash so you might not even get them. Now I know Live Football Tickets are a well known outlet and might not be quite so underhanded but it allows me to select up to 18 of the cheapest £125 tickets in the away end and I'm not convinced they'll physically have that many tickets.

The problem with a neutral area would be a home fan coming for a one off match (child’s birthday, Xmas present, etc) would be stuck in the middle of away fans. Imagine a ten year old being stuck in the middle of scousers for his birthday.

Don’t get your knickers in a twist

It won’t change anything, what’s done is done

Disagree with this. Its just a perk of working for the club.
Loads of business' offer work bonuses and perks for working for them.
As I said yesterday. Anyone who transfers a ticket to anyone with a supporter number and account, they can then email the ticket to whoever they want to be downloaded be it a home, away fan or just someone who wants to go to the game. This is how it happens on the ticketing websites online. You just get emailed the ticket

At least there would be enough candles for his cake.

They’d have a whip round for the kid, put the coins in a plastic bottle and throw it at the kid…..

I've said this before but I am one of the people that have given up my season ticket over the last few years as well as my uncles and my Dad. A mix of cost and atmosphere but I'd only go to away games now.

The club has to do something about this and given the noise right now I'd surprised if they didn't.

I think it's meant to be 60% go to points (5% for junior pull through and 5% for 18-25 come out of this allocation) 20% go to OSC, 15% to hospitality and 5% to staff. This means that staff for a 3k allocation receive 150 tickets! 5% for a home game is over 2.5k. I don't have an issue with parents or siblings watching a player but why should the assistant physio for example have access to away tickets.

if you can transfer the money, I'll buy and let you know ;)
But it doesn't look like it

For some sections they were only offering 1 ticket instead of 'up to 4 tickets' so suspect they do have tickets available i.e. don't think it's a scammer
Probably a clearing house for "match package" tickets

I’m the first to criticise the club a lot of the time but what have they done wrong in this instance? They sold a ticket in the home end to a city fan who got his phone out and people started punching him. Why is the club at fault?

There are of course no excuses for filling someone in because he got his phone out, bang out of order and I feel really bad for the bloke who will have spent loads of money coming to the game and will probably never do so again.

However, for rationale as to why it happened, tensions have been rising amongst a significant part of our fanbase regarding 'tourists/day trippers/whatever term you want to use' and having opposition fans in our end, particularly in the high-profile games against our rivals and the club have done nothing to resolve those tensions.

I expect some stick for this as it's pure whataboutery and I'm probably not articulating myself particularly well, however despite the club doing nothing wrong in this particular instance, in my opinion had they not taken the piss for the last two years like they have, the lad wouldn't have got the pasting that he did.

Tin hat firmly on.
