Away fans / tourists in home sections

I agree with that. The difference is that Birmingham really were the real thing, an absolutely fearsome mob, who didn’t need to be attacking normal supporters. Villa have always wanted to be Birmingham in that sense, the epitome of wannabes, trying to prove something, hence you have always had a higher risk factor at Villa as a normal non hooliganism fan. Let’s not forget a Villa bloke in his forties assaulting a kid at Wembley after our League Cup win against them, sums them up.

Birmingham is the only time I have experience problems travelling to the Etihad. From Birmingham upwards we would get Birmingham fans in cars and coaches giving us hand signals and mouthing abuse at us. The only time I wished I had taken my City stickers of the car !.
We took of our City gear when using the service stations.
I remember the police helicopter flying around as the match was going on. Walking back to the car after the match, some Birmingham fans were covered in blood and seemed to be wanting to fight anyone even themselves lol.

Never had it that bad before or after when travelling to matches.

To be honest you're arguing against something that I haven't said, and I wouldn't disagree that Villa have usually boasted the bigger crowds apart from the mid 70s when Birmingham were relatively more successful

My original point was in response to somebody suggesting that Birmingham wouldn't bring thousands to the ETIHAD for a one-off cup match.

They would, because that's the exact nature of their support
A near relative of mine was a Govenor and veteran of battles with Chelsea,Millwall, Leeds etc. He always reckoned the top firms per capita were Middlesboro and especially Birmingham. Always found there fans sound when I've met them on holiday etc, however back in the early 90s they smashed Blackpool to pieces.

The Zulus had a big day out at the Etihad a few years ago. A very big turn out of all their old ‘faces’. I think they tried to attack Mary Ds.

Apparently they were formed for a trip to Maine Road back in the 80s.

It's not point scoring to state facts.. regardless of what you say 39 people died because of the feral cunts.
It shouldn't ever be forgotten JFT39
I don’t think anyone can fail to forget Hillsbrough or Heysel. The real forgotten tragedy is Bradford in 85. But there isn’t the tribalistic rivalry with Bradford.

They got smacked all over ANR after the match.

It was some sort of anniversary.

Sounds like they're saying "shut up and go away"

The Sam Lee article that just came out was talking about how people wearing away colors in home areas were asked to cover them up and move elsewhere

So the club aren't even kicking these people out when they're identified. Pretty obvious they aren't taking it seriously
Plyms are well advised not to venture into home areas tomorrow.

City fans are well pissed off with it and will handle the ejections themselves if necessary.

Be warned Plyms.

Zulus....the deal & fought with other mobs.

Villa...chickenshitters after kids women,oldies & scarfers !!

BC FC could be like City if they had development land and a multi billionaire owner with long term vision.

A bit of a comatose big club !!

Who didn’t?

They were treating it as the 25th anniversary of the birth of the "Zulus"
It was 07/08 and according to their hooligan books it had all started at Maine Road after the goalless draw in 82-83
And funnily enough the 25 year anniversary one was goalless too (I only remember it cos it was my youngest’s first game, aged 2, got the Zulu reunion!)

Strangely considering their hooligan reputation I have always found the Birmingham fans ok during numerous trips to St Andrews unlike their arrogant rivals at Villa.
Zulus would fight any mob.

Vanilla pick on kids, women, scarfers,oldies.....full weight chicken shitters !!

Bradford was a terrible tragedy.. accidental too..remember getting back from us winning promotion at Maine Road and it was showing the fire in the stands.
Couldn't believe what was happening..it's a day that should be remembered
R.I.P to all those that lost their lives

I'm assuming that it's an age thing but for the benefit of those who don't fully understand why some of us older supporters despise the media narrative surrounding Liverpool and their previous misdemeanours

Just read the first few paragraphs

"In the absence of a complaint"
