If Zelensky knew this was coming, what a brave thing to expose yourself to. His English is ok, but he isn’t fluent. To commit to that, when your English isn’t brilliant, given the location, and given what’s on the line for his country, is an incredibly brave thing to agree to.

Well after watching that farce I really don't know where we stand.

If Europe decides to stand then it seems things are about to get pretty bloody real.

Stand how, like back in 1992 when they let Serbs eviscerate Bosnia and its Muslim majority government, the very same one they recognized in 1992. And incessantly talked to Milosevic directly involved in supporting forces that killed tens of thousands civilians. We talk about that Europe?!?!
There is neither appetite nor military capability among EU countries to dramatically change anything. Utterly depressing, but I don't see Ukrainians stopping the fight, for them it is fucking existential.

They don’t disagree with the war. They just support the other side. Attempting to tie in US support with the offer of mineral rights was a gamble, but one worth taking. Reality is, Ukraine is no better or worse off than it was 24 hours ago.

The other reality is that Europe is on its own in this fight. It’s down to us.

They dont want to be an ally. No point rolling over when it's becoming increasingly clear they have no interest in siding with Ukraine under trump and going against his mate and puppet master Putin. They're looking for a way out of supporting ukraine, zelensky may have just given them one but they'll have found one soon enough regardless. Ukraine, with Europe will have to fight on without them at some point, at worst it may have advanced that timeline. Whatever happens next, if America pulls their support, Trump and his little pet chihuahua Vance will go down in history as the ones who abandoned them and caused whatever happens next.
