A European army cannot operate to any degree without the UK being a major partner, so Brexit/EU will have no bearing or influence on this whatsoever.

He can if he fucks the law off which is what he’s doing hell of a lot, I think after the meeting to today they shoukd announce all frozen assets are going to the Ukraine before Trump starts saying we must give it back.
 
Talking to mate yesterday and the clash in the White House came up he said he was a backing Trump over it etc I asked him why he said the bits he’d seen seemed to suggest it, so I explained what happened and he was astonished by it said he didn’t realise and that’s the problem people are seeing soundbites and depending where you get your information, you can see why a lot of Americans are just dumb as fuck whe it comes to world politics.

American's on the whole are some on the most insular people on the planet, there knowledge of world history/geography is almost non existent.

I keep asking myself why are the EU keeping this war going. It could have been stopped when he went into the Crimea. Nothing was done then. Big mistake, not all countries in EU want a war, not all countries want to keep pouring money in, why are we? Our politicians are liars and they definitely don’t speak for me. I’m leaving it at that on here, because on a forum there are very entrenched opinions, I just can’t see anything good about going headfirst into a war. Blair, who, next to United, I dislike (probably can’t say hate without being arrested) led us into the last war and look who we’ve got in again!

Where are the decent people in the United States letting this administration cause shit storm after shit storm? A president who cuddles and panders to a despot like Putin and puts a gun to the head of Zelensky as he knows he can take Ukraine’s metal resources off them on the cheap and make some money out of it. The vice president wouldn’t be out of place preaching in some evangelical church in red neck country, why doesn’t he want to go to Ukraine so he can form a proper picture of what’s happening?

If rioters can storm the capitol building, kill and injure people and receive pardons for their convictions. The American public who see their country turning into a laughing stock on international diplomacy should be invading the Oval Office and dragging these two clowns out of there.

It not just defence though is it, we basically told our neighbours to go forth and multiply.

Never since the second world war has the UK and the European mainland needed to stick together and take the initiative.

American is clearly going to be far more insular and far more unpredictable under Trump, it's the perfect opportunity for Europe to rise as a genuine combined super power for the benefit of Europe and to do that Russia must not be allowed to recover from their present state, the 3 year attack on Ukraine has hammered their economy, Military, Moral and influence, yet Trump wants to give Russia and Putin a get out of jail card, a quite unbelievable and scary situation.

Trump talks of Ukraine not having a strong hand of cards, yet Russia has almost folded, why the *uck would the USA and Trump want to let them off the hook?

I do wonder if Trump sides with Russia completely how do the military react, I know he’s put some people he likes in charge but surely there must be a point when they think this is crazy, could we ever see a coup, especially if he starts going against the constitution and clearly breaking laws.

Tend to agree. I don't think half the US forces would be happy with this, and when you factor in plenty of that half will be the higher ups, I don't think he'll have meaningful support from the military.
