Am I going mad ? Or am I mis - remembering the incident with Ederson and how the media reported it ?

This is from the Standard.

Mane's challenge was met with conflicting responses from pundits, with Gary Neville and Thierry Henry believing a red card was harsh - although former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher insisted it was deserved.

This the Independant

The decision prompted a backlash, with commentator Gary Neville, among many, arguing that Moss had made the wrong call.

"I don’t think it’s a red. His eyes are on the ball. The rewards are so big if he wins that," he said on Sky Sports.

"I'm sorry Jon Moss, you've just ruined a spectacle there."

I know thats just Neville rather than the papers themselves but my recollection is that many pundits and media outlets were split on the red card. And that one was right in the face.

I don`t remember the same outrage as this horror tackle from the Millwall keeper.

Nor do I remember the outrage about Liverpool fans singing " Let him die ". Unless I imagined that too.

The excuses were he had his eye on the ball so couldn’t be blamed for the keeper being stretcheted off requiring oxygen.

Just watching the highlights on BBC and, after the O'Reilly second goal, the commentator says "rich Manchester City celebrations". When the fuck has any commentator ever described a goal celebration as "rich" ? Got to be an in-joke amongst BBC staff to mention "rich" in relation to City regardless of context.

You also imagined Ederson getting booed when they stretchered him off for "faking it".

The Liverpool fans mocked Ederson as he was carried off. It wasn’t as bad as the Millwall one but it was still a terrible challenge by Mane.

I think Cool Hand Nedum nearly told them to go fuck themselves.
In a game a team gave up an XG of 0 Nedum was mocked for saying we defended well.

We’ve scored 6 on so many occasions that we get mocked for winning 3:1 with 29 shots to 1.

ESPN won’t ask Nedum back. He doesn’t follow the anti-City script which has become institutionalised in the media these days.

The sports media of this country is like the back seat of a school bus, grown men acting like fucking adolescents, it's beyond embarrassing. If any of them had even a semblance of self awareness I'd suggest that they take a long hard look in the mirror and analyse what they see.

Kin hell how fucking childish was that. Well done Nedum
