Easiest and simplest thing to do is to not give him the same number of days off as the rest of the squad. If he can’t behave himself then take away the opportunity to travel the country getting pissed up.

Players returning from injury, or not making the team, have to report for extra training. Get them properly fit and in a position to challenge, and make them more saleable in the process.

I think there’s a broader issue around the squad’s fitness levels in any case. Nowhere near good enough this year and changes need to be made.

Pep is very firm about what you do on your days off is up to you. Sadly, some players think that actually means LITERALLY anything you want.

You’ll notice the PROs he discusses and admires. He talks about their professionalism, their level of commitment, etc… Grealish has English Lad disease…too much money and not enough piss to spend it on in the allotted time!

He may be the nicest guy in the world to a Make-A-Wish child, but he’s being paid over £1M PER MONTH to be a professional at the very highest levels of the game for the few short years he has left as a top pro and he simply can’t pull it off!

It’s a sad waste of time, money and talent, but one day he’ll wake up and have his moment of self-reflection and should be very disappointed in himself.

Then again, one wonders if he’s smart enough for such a feat, as he’s the epitome of the dumb footballer, and seems to enjoy being the idiot!

Pep won't care what Grealish does as long as he turns up to training on time and trains well.

And if he doesn't do that he'll be angry whether Grealish spent his days off staying in or going out on the lash.

Pep's on record saying he feels sorry for modern players because when he was in his 20's no one had mobile phones or social media and they got away with all sorts.

People take the piss out of Pep because Grealish has been a flop. Apparently these idiots think the GOAT Pep kills talent, and plays boring. Grealish being shit is because he was never a world class player, just looked good in a relegation fighting Villa team. Grealish never attacks his fullback and is a coward on the pitch imo. We brought him to be like Pires or Hazard a left attacking midfielder, but the guy plays like a DM playing at LW. Also, the backing he gets from the fan base just because he’s English and “a good lad” is embarrassing. He’s not a fucking player from the academy, he’s 100m and 350k a week. From Leroy Sane and Mahrez to Jack Grealish 0 goals 1 assist in a calendar year fml

Point is when you getting older as footballer injured most of the time while here, drinking alcohol slows recovery more chance of recurring injuries to! As a football you have 15 years of lucky they should be as healthy as possible no drinking alcohol .

Nice lad and of course we may not have the full SP on his personal life, but the realty is that he’s paid a fortune to keep himself in shape and deliver an accordant level of performance. Fall out of a pub pissed once, shame on you. Fall out of numerous pubs pissed several times, shame on me.
Can he really believe that managers like Pep and Tuchel will be impressed about seeing him on the front pages like this? He’s nearly 30 FFS.
Sold during the summer, has to be

Well carry on then, Jack, as you were.

Grealish's problem isn't getting papped coming out of a pub on his day off.

People just want Pep to care more about this personal life stuff than he does. Walker never got dropped any of the 180 times he got photographed drunk or caught with his trousers down, he got dropped when his performances dipped.

Have to laugh every time i see he should be sold

1. Who’s paying anything anywhere close to what he cost?

2. Who’s paying his obscene wages?

He’s got 2 years left lol. Stuck with him.

Clubs should be able to sue players who fuck their bodies up intentionally like Jack does, I don't know if they do do they?

100%

He clearly is immature and has not got the elite mentality needed at the highest level, such a sad waste of a great talent.

Walker was never ever injured / unfit / unavailable. Grealish is the opposite of Walker which is why Guardiola and the club will absolutely care how Grealish lives his life. You don’t invest what they have to have the fella be unavailable or out of favor for 2/3 if his career at the club.

Gone in the summer and not a moment too soon.

Spurs. Stellar will earn their coin and commission. It’s bad for brand Grealish that he can’t get on the pitch anymore.

Grealish has missed fewer games per season at City then he did at Villa, so I'm not sure what levels of fitness they were expecting from their investment, or why they thought paying £100m for him would make him healthy.

The Grealish fanboys, bots, and apologists will flood in with excuses faster than high-frequency traders on Wall Street—scurrying, screeching, and scrambling for cover. And trust me, their mental gymnastics? Not just Olympic-level—these people are out here doing 10D quantum backflips, bending logic like Neo dodging bullets in The Matrix. They are inventing new laws of physics just to twist reality in Grealish’s favor.

I've moved through industries, crossed paths with manipulators, sales sharks, lobbyists and corporate spin-doctors. I’ve met different type of hustlers, strategists, and corporate sharks—corporate suits, street-level grinders, and high-level thinkers. I’ve watched politicians lie to millions with a straight face, twisting words like a speech impediment, seen defense attorneys turn cold-blooded killers into misunderstood saints. But nothing—NOTHING—compares to the reality-warping, logic-twisting, history-erasing and editing insanity of Grealish's die-hard worshippers.

These people don’t argue; they perform. It’s a circus act—high-flying goalpost shifting, double-twist deflections, and full-scale reality denial that would make Orwell himself choke on his tea. It’s mental contortionism on a supernatural level. Show them facts? They close their eyes. Show them stats? They cry "context!" Show them reality? They simply reject it.

No matter how clear the truth is, they will build an entire multiverse of excuses, shifting goalposts with the agility of a prime Messi dribbling through defenders.

And when they’re out of moves? When every excuse has been obliterated? That’s when they hit you with the final boss-level gaslighting: 'You just don’t understand football.' Ah yes, the last refuge of the defeated—pretending you’re the one who just doesn’t "get it."

There is no discussion. There is no reasoning. You’re not debating with people—you’re fighting against a belief system, a cult, a religion where Grealish is their false prophet and reality is their greatest enemy. You don’t convince them. You just let them be, Grealish will continue to be Grealish, unprofessional, overhyped, overprotected, wildly overpriced, and perpetually underperforming against a bar that’s already been set so low it’s practically underground.
Great post and so very true, if you can't see through Jack Grealish now and his deficiencies then there is something wrong and if your putting Grealish before Manchester City FC then for me your a wrong un.

I’ll take your word for that. But you’ve ignored the point about Pep and how he feels about lads out on the piss when they can’t stay fit. Walker absolutely turned up week in and week out for him. So a totally different scenario to Grealish.

I'm sure we'll find out on Friday when he's inevitably asked about it.

Defended him when he was injured and he got seen in that hotel with some friends.

Pretty obvious it's not just a one-time thing and do think we're a better team without him now anyway.

Been great for us. I really believe that. Was incredible for the treble run. Time to part ways though.
