Surely the 3pm blackout can be suspended for one Saturday, and have 12-15, 3-00, 5-30 and 8-15.
Are any supporters of EFL clubs really going to prefer, say Brighton-Forest, to watching their own team?
It isn't just EFL clubs it benefits and it isn't just fans of the clubs that watch the games.

Same reason Tranmere and Stockport played at home on Fridays a lot.

In an era where people can stream live matches to their phones (legitimately or otherwise) the 3pm blackout is a total anachronism. It represents the last vestiges of Bob Lord's opposition to any live league football on TV and as talk increases of clubs taking on the rights to stream their own matches via dedicated channels it will surely just die a natural death.

Spot on. Back in the day it made a lot of sense but times and habits have changed.

so no friday games?

You just know its a early kick off/late kick off on saturday
Last couple of direct trains home on the Saturday leave at 17.45 and 18.45 and take just over 4 1/2 hours. A 3.00 ko would be ok, a 12.30 ko would mean a very early start, anything later i.e. 8pm would mean an overnight stay or getting home around 3.00am. Would make sense to have the London game as the late ko which means it won't be and we will!

Yes, commonsense dictates that the London derby should be the late evening kick-off. As you say, 5.30pm in our game will be too late to get the train back. I've provisionally booked a hotel in Bournemouth with free cancellation just in case ours kicks off any later than 3pm

I was at the earlier away game, 3pm kick off.

Drove down, didnt get back to South Manchester until past midnight.

Long long trip!

If we dont win it, i hope any **** but Villa wins it
I'v despised them cunts since i took a beating as a child off their fans.
I was with my young son and two young nephews and me owd
fella when we beat them in the carabao in 2020,
heard loads of how they were cunts,i confronted a few at the top of wembley way after the game when they were gobby, all backed down, hate the cunts.

Anybody booked on the hospitality helicopter ride to the game and back with dinner and seats in the directors box??? Only 5k and sure u won't need a season ticket

It is also a nonsense because lower league and non-league attendances have never been higher. Non-league fans will not be impacted by a random PL match on TV.

Guessing they would want this one for prime TV as it will be the game with the most people watching so probably be late Saturday kick off or Sunday 4pm be very surprised if it’s the early one

Villa were absolute twats at that League Cup final starting trouble with elderly City fans and children. We saw it on the train going and after the match. One of them picked a fight with me at the Ibis Wembley making racist insults towards our owner. I was then over 60 and he was in his 20s. They were worst than the scousers in their final against us. I was pretty neutral towards them but now have a different view. Stan Collymore doesn't help either.
