I agree, that performance v PSG by him was on par with Joey Hart in the Nou Camp.

Ede has never had a game like that, ever.

Do you honestly think he’s a better keeper then, I mean at saving efforts on goal? Hart v Dortmund & Barca was incredible and prevented thrashings … we’ve been spanked so many times already this season as it is?

And in the time he’s been here won everything, some things multiple times and we wouldn’t have if he wasn’t part of the team. That’s a fact, not an opinion.

He also made a mistake when havertz scored in 2021, and a few errors in other games vs Madrid. So saying we would not have a UCL if Ederson wasn’t our goalkeeper is stupid. If Ederson wasn’t at Man City, we’d probably have Courtois or Alison, I guarantee you we’d have at least one CL if they were our goalkeeper over the last 8 years.

And he’s gone down hill from being a decent shot stopper to a poor one. Same as lots of players have gone down hill this season and in past seasons.

It doesn’t denigrate the good they did us but it’s well past time he and we moved on.

Also the mythic save in the CL final hit him. Now was that fortunate, was it great positioning or was a terrible finish? The answer is immaterial but to think that no other keeper could have done it is beyond stupid.

So; are you saying we should hold onto him because of what he's done in the past, not for what he might do for us in the future (which is certainly up for debate right now)?

This “never dare to criticize a player” style of posting is so tedious. It’s plain to see that Eddie was an integral part of an incredible winning side. Nobody in their right mind denies that. But there’s equally plenty of evidence over his career that his shot stopping is a weakness & is below the bar set by our previous greats, and plenty of arguments to be made that this season is revealing the weakness more than before. Is that because he is on the wane, because his head was turned by Saudi money, because the overall team is struggling, because the tactics have been sussed out … I don’t know, but that’s fertile ground for conversation.

Not at all. When the club believe, or Ederson himself for that matter, that it’s time to move on then that’s what is best for the team. But the fact is Ederson has contributed to our success playing Pep’s game.

Also, there is only one position on the pitch where mistakes can and are highlighted, and that’s the keeper.

We'd have won multiple CLs if we had a keeper the quality of Alisson, Neuer or Courtois.

He consistently costs us against top quality teams who take advantage of his weaknesses.

And he's making too many of them.
 
Like arse holes, we’ve all got an opinion on him. Not after a row, fellas. The sun is shining and a Tyskie or several are on tap.

I agree in parts of what some have said. There is too much piling in on some players though as they reach their expiry date for us. Riles me, but I suppose my happy go lucky, never slate the players attitude does too.
