Club World Cup - Summer 2025

Last time i was in Philadelphia, they had the rocky steps closed off as they were doing some football draft presentation, so i missed out on running up the steps. This time I'll be doing it with an old tracksuit, might put a hole or 2 in it for authencity
Tradition to put a City shirt/scarf on the Stallone statue, even through he apparently has shares in the blue dippers

Stallone is a genuine Everton fan. He got taken to a game about 20 years ago, got really into it and has been to Goodison quite a few times since then.
He claims he regrets turning down an opportunity to buy the club when he could afford to do it but that story may just be a bit of PR bullshit.

Also a Trump fan so screw him

BBC won’t want to promote it if it’s us and not their red favourites.

ITV and Channel 5 are the two main bidders for the rights to show the FIFA Club World Cup on TV with global rights holders DAZN sub-licensing in major territories including the UK.ITV have made a £0 bid, although DAZN would recoup some funds through third-party sponsorship/airtime sales. Channel 5 are in the running on a similar basis but is expected to give the tournament greater exposure.ITV’s plan is to involve largely showing games on ITV4, while the BBC and Channel 4 have ruled themselves out.

misleading story from i, DANZ agreed global TV rights in December for £800M, no chance any of bbc ITV or channel 4 or 5 could afford to bid anyway, ITV cheekily bid £0 though and now them and C5 are in talks with Danz about screening partnerships

It has to be free to air - so DAZN will make 10p on advertising so it make sense they do a deal. £0 is with a share of advertising revenue which will be much greater than DAZN could generate in the UK.

I said in one of the many other threads the company that pays FIFA for the rights in a normal world cup then sells it world wide. Why do you think it would be different for this?

I hope we get knocked out as early as possible. The last thing this team needs is to go into next season without a full break and proper pre season

Looks like I am staying a 5 min walk from where the Orlando supporters club normally meet. Seems like that might be the perfect place for a pre-footy drink.

Any Orlando blues on here part of the OSC?

cant see it being a problem TBH, we would most likely have done a tour in the far east anyway, its max 7 games, two go through from the group so we could play a 2nd string side from the squad we take and the remaining 4 games we can use a better starting 11 to build there fitness up for the start of the season
