Looks like another amazon prime documentary will be happening now.
Yes, the league is theirs and unless Newcastle perform out of their skin l’pool will also win the League cup too but they are winning the league when other teams aren’t at their best. We are having our worst season in heaven knows how many, Arsenal and Chelsea are blowing hot and cold even utd are having a mare compared to their previous seasons, their best being runners up a couple of seasons ago. L’pool play with 10 men behind the ball and break quickly, they defend first. In my opinion, they aren’t a gung-ho style of Klopp, nor do they play the over whelming style of Klopp, I wouldn’t have thought a Klopp team to have been so outplayed as they were by PSG, the other night no matter how stuffy the outcome. Although last season in Europe, away at Atalanta, l’pool were well beaten, they weren’t played off the park.I think that's the size of it. They're a good team, no denying — not comparable to the Mane, Firmino, Salah team when it was flying. It helps that Salah is having the season of his life, and is completely injury free. Never mind the goals he's scored. The guy's got seventeen fucking assists!
Also, I genuinely think this is a very weak PL this year, with very little substantial difference between about third and sixteenth. Arsenal are nothing like as good as the two seasons they went head to head with us. But they, too, have had significant injuries. It does just look as though this was Liverpool's year. Them being played off the park by PSG puts it into its proper perspective. If they win the CL, it really will demonstrate, for the umpteenth time, that the best team in Europe that year does not necessarily win that competition.
But the league's theirs, and almost certainly the league cup.
Hence my ‘less favourable teams’ quote;)When you're as VAR proof as him it's no wonder he's an arrogant, disrespectful arse towel.
Plus, he's got that "card" that says that the majority of "on pitch decisions" go his way and then VAR pretty much backs the on-field bullshit.
Decent defender, not as good as he's made out to be, has many weaknesses but SKY don't do "How to get at liverpool" videos like they did for us so they're not broadcast for all the world to hear.
Salah looked lost against PSG, a team that keeps possession of a footballIn contrast to most posters on this thread I am going to give Slot some kudos on coming in and most likely winning the league in his first season, getting to the League Cup final and topping Champions League qualification. That is impressive by any measure although caveats apply.
The dippers do seem to get very favourable refereeing, not that you would know it giving their whining when any decision goes against them.
Lots of dubious penalties and players not booked/sent off - especially VD who seems to have license to assault opposition players at will.
Arsenal by contrast have been a bit hard done by. Whilst that is hilarious in one way more balanced decisions would have put Arsenal closer to the dippers and who knows what would have happened then.
They have rejuvenated their midfield but that was more luck than judgement. Klopp wanted Fabinho and Henderson to stay and they failed to get their main targets (Caciedo and Lavia) but did get Gravenberch, McAllistair and Slobedzlie?? - who are a very functional, hard working midfield for them.
If Salah and VD jump ship then I can see a big drop off but, if they don't, they are going to be strong again next season.
I'm now off for a bath to rid myself of the stench of saying anything positive about the red dippers.
I'll wait until Slot gets the league under his belt, to see what colours he will show next season.Yes, the league is theirs and unless Newcastle perform out of their skin l’pool will also win the League cup too but they are winning the league when other teams aren’t at their best. They might have walked the league but this team isn’t as good as Klopp’s, although, on a personal level, Slott does seem a more affable bloke.
Ahhhh, now there's the confusion, you see I read what you wrote and didn't for one second think that you meant "less well favoured teams". Silly me ;)Hence my ‘less favourable teams’ quote;)
They will have to deal with 2 or three big departures, (hopefully) a bit more competition, and while lot more expectation,/entitlement - in which case we'll see what he's made of. Ultimately you have to say credit where credit is due for coming in after klopp, and on the face of it being a better manager.I'll wait until Slot gets the league under his belt, to see what colours he will show next season.
More of the same or reverting to the mean, either the relative humility goes or that's who he truly is.
Slott has brought an element of calm and stability after the hysterical reign of Klopp. He is also less fixated on City and doesn’t make snide comments about our club. Even after leaving Klopp has continued to slag us off. He is obsessed with City and, according to a source I trust, was a total arsehole behind the scenes at LFC. Slott deserves credit for the job he has done this season. They will have to deal with 2 or three big departures, (hopefully) a bit more competition, and while lot more expectation,/entitlement - in which case we'll see what he's made of. That poor a referee that Jones only got a yellow for violent conduct.Since they were apparently poorly reffed against Everton I don’t think they’ve had a decision go against them
Behind the scenes????? His behaviour when the camera was on him was loathsome enough, can't begin to imagine how he behaved in private.Slott has brought an element of calm and stability after the hysterical reign of Klopp. He is also less fixated on City and doesn’t make snide comments about our club. Klopp certainly upset a lot of the staff. He was a good manager, perhaps in the Mancini mold. He was what they needed at the time because the club needed shaking up but he is not a long-term strategy person. Unfortunately it looks like they have found a good operator with Slott. I am surprised at how quickly Slott has changed the way they play. They have cut out all the emotional stuff and conserved their energy carefully. Pep did the same thing with City for the 22/23 season. It was more pragmatic but that's what wins the biggest trophies.Behind the scenes????? I am still not sure about Liverpool ,the points tally is for me different to the eye test. I just cant see a outstanding team in this Liverpool team who are going to dominate for years.Klopp certainly upset a lot of the staff. He was a good manager, perhaps in the Mancini mold. I agree not a great team but I think Slott has done a great job with them. Following Klopp and his brand of football is a tough act.I am still not sure about Liverpool ,the points tally is for me different to the eye test. I may be wrong I think we will see next season, also Slott has not had to deal with anything everything he has tried worked, every resistance from other teams have failed miserable.
His 2 key key players have played ALL the games they have not missed one game that is unheard off.
He didnt get his DM in Zubimendi so he tried Gravenberch, he has been the best DM in the league was it luck or master class I am not so sure.
Salah is playing like Messi, he is basically the different to other teams . If Arsenal had Salah they would be nr 1 and winning the league I have no doubt .
Remember what was said about Pep , you cant win CL without Messi (and then he did) but for many years it was said .
Would Slott be nr 1 without Salah ?
This Liverpool team is best in the league and deserve this title with out a doubt but until they proof me wrong they are not great .
Salah is on double doses I think.Slott,s biggest challenge was weening the squad off the inhalers.
6 subs in a game...Since they were apparently poorly reffed against Everton I don’t think they’ve had a decision go against them
After all the other comments on here I found this perhaps the most interesting. The two season they’ve won the premier league they’ve waked it not saying they didn’t deserve it obviously they did but they’ve won it with having no pressure put on them what so ever
