Gareth Taylor sacked

Amazed he lasted this long tbh. The team hasn't won anything for 2 plus years and basically caved in and shat their own bed, on our own ground, with the title in their grasp last season. He should've been sacked then tbh. With our resources that isn't good enough and some of the play this season has been dire - especially Arsenal and Man U at home.

Better late than never but odd it's come 5 days before a Cup final. Can only presume they were waiting for Nick Cushing to say "yes" in order to push the button.

seems a bit harsh. I wonder if there’s another story lurking in there somewhere
Has to be, though so many of our ‘top’ players leaving recently suggests the reasoning. The Chloe Kelly situation suggests something wrong.

He had all the players / back room staff together in a circle at the end of yesterday’s game. Is than a normal practice for them?
They usually for a circle at the end of the game, never really noticed the back room staff joining in prior to yesterday.

They should have waited until the FA semi & the LC final have been played.

Can only assume the atmosphere/issues in the dressing room had degenerated to the point where his presence was viewed as more counter productive than the risk of disruption?

Surprising time of the season to do it, I never thought he was the right person to start with, hope we have someone big to take over.
Agree regarding the timing but great news at last (albeit two years late). Some good players have left and some appeared to be on the way out. Surely, City will have already sorted out a replacement.
We have Chelsea four times in the next month, this change may bring about a surge in effort from the players . Let us hope so.
The biggest change I would like to see is the end of the current management instructions to play the ball sideways and backward most of the time. Onwards and upwards.

Yeah. It’d have been two more nails! The level of football as a spectacle has been diminishing game by game. I’ve watched MCWFC since they played at the Athletics Stadium in the days when the likes of Bristol City turned us over and since Cushing left we’ve been Nearly Rans, Numbers Making and Also Rans. When you consider the quality of the squad we’ve massively under achieved. The upside is that Chloe is only on loan!!

Has to be something along those lines. As I mentioned earlier, the Chloe Kelly saga may have triggered this. Apparently she has ‘liked’ the post announcing his dismissal.

End of March would have done. But unfair on someone to come in and face this next run of fixtures. Can't say I am sorry he is leaving but as you say the timing is odd

Think she's end of contract.

Contract up at the end of the season I think.

If she returns and decides to stay, then we will have the answers, though I doubt it was Taylor who blocked moves she had in mind. She clearly wanted to stay ‘local’.

It does seem odd timing but maybe the board think the only way to get a result in the league cup final and the champions league is to part ways. I’m delighted. The quality of football has really gone downhill this season and the girls deserve better. We’ve got a squad that can push for the title, not one that’s failing to quality for champions league as things stand.
