Trump has driven a coach and horses through the international rule based system. He votes with Russia at the UN, he threatens allies Canada, Mexico and Denmark, he signs executive orders which attack individuals and legal practices, and so on and so forth.
You’re right, nothing happening worth your comment.

Trump babbles on about globalists and forcing them to bring production back to the USA, threatening them with tariffs one day, then "temporarily" backing down the next. Another day, another day of manufactured crisis and uncertainty, it's a madness, it's all becoming a blur.

Marco Rubio has announced that all but 18% of USAID programs have been cancelled. He has not specified which programs but this is disastrous. This is horrific and thousands will die, for example in famine hit areas of Africa.
My bet is that the food program to feed North Korea will survive.
USAID programs are America’s most influential soft power efforts. If China steps in, USA will lose all credibility in foreign affairs.
 
THE UNITARY EXECUTIVE THEORY
A battle is going on between the courts and Trump’s Executive. In case after case where those affected by Executive Orders or the actions of Doge, are suing the Executive, the courts are ruling against the administration, saying the Executive and the courts are co-equal parts of governance and that the Executive cannot overrule precedents, statutes, and constitutional provisions. The Executive maintain that they possess the power to do almost whatever they wish. They particularly claim that they can defy court orders because the courts have no power to direct the Executive. Trump’s men are following a theory called The Unitary Executive theory, a right wing idea that has been around for many years but until now has made little headway. If adopted, the tripartite nature of American governance is dead and the president is king. Trump’s strategy is to get one of these cases in front of SCOTUS, hoping that court will rule in his favour.
SCOTUS will have a huge decision to make. I hope for a 5-4 decision against the Unitary theory. If Trump wins, he is king bolstered by his previously won immunity. God help America.

Hard to like this post. If it happens, then it's pretty much over for the USA as a functioning democracy.
