They talk of democracy but surely democracy is canvassing the views of their 20-odd thousand members rather than 8 people (or however many it was) having a vote in secret and coming to a unanimous decision that is the complete opposite of how a large chunk of our fanbase are feeling.

I agree with you, however that's just my gut feeling as I don't have the true figures.
I'm convinced we don't have the tourist, or non-regular supporter base to fill the ground for most PL or CL games. If 20% of regulars gave up there would be empty seats everywhere other than for four or five PL games and CL games against the usual suspects.
My opinion is based on the fact that we only sell out close to kick-off indicating there aren't huge numbers of tourists in reserve. However, the club know the true demand. They could be trying to maximise short-term income by pissing off a few hundred regulars per season, or they might know there are thousands will to occupy the additional seats.
There will be a lot of empty seats for Thursday League games next season if we miss the CL and while the club will reduce prices I'm not sure lapsed fans will take up the slack if they can only afford Thursday games or cheap domestic cup games.

its a crying shame but when our support base can not mobilise itself to be able to come together In unison to challenge and question the club on various matters then it’s a losing battle - they have and will treat the fans with utter contempt and pay lip service to the current set up of City Matters /OSC - Liverpool’s Spirit of Shankly seem one of the only bodies to have a voice and affect change at a Premier League Club - United have MUST and now 1958 who create noise , protest etc etc but the club just cracks on and does want it wants - ours is the same - Pricing issues are the hot topic currently and rightly so but it’s no coincidence that following fans treatment at recent Champions League Finals Liverpool fought for and got a full refund for everyone and our club did a absolutely nothing , shameful .

I don’t think our chairman was given a vote and if he was he didn’t ask his members what way his branch should vote

A 100% vote is concerning.

Wow. The arrogance that comes across in the OSC response is poor to say the least. Very dismissive and obviously don't feel they need transparency and accountability to the people they are supposed to represent . I nearly joined an OSC club a couple of years ago but now I am glad I didn't

The strike was conducted on a rep by rep basis. We left it for each rep to act as they saw fit.

Letting reps act how they see fit defeats the purpose of their position, they need to be acting on the will of the people they REPresent.

When there's a vote in your local council chamber, or in the House of Commons, do your elected representatives contact you and ask how you feel about the issues, and which way they should vote?

Who elected you, or anyone else involved in the 1894 Group to speak on behalf of City fans? The truth is that you're a self-appointed, unaccountable group who have set themselves up as the 'authentic' voice of City fans. Do you speak top all your members (a group that includes me) before making statements?

I deliberately didn't participate in the survey as it seemed to me, and as someone else pointed out, it was very slanted towards getting the answers you wanted. I refuse to complete any of the surveys we get asked to do, officially or unofficially, if I don't feel they're designed to achieve a particular outcome. I was particularly horrified that far more people thought a few 'tourists' (an emotive word that you and others have weaponised) in home sections was a more important issue than pricing, which impacts all of us who regularly attend games.

Also your constant demonisation of City Matters & OSC, both of which have a clear mandate and documented constitution or rules, is becoming very McCarthyite and quite worrying. Basically I feel 1894 is turning into something like the MAGA movement, using populism and a few slogans to whip up emotions while taking no responsibility for outcomes.

I've said to the group and Dante that you are the ideal base for a Supporters Trust but you won't take that step. I think I realise why now. If you did, you'd have to behave responsibly and take accountability, and you don't want that. You'd rather stand on the sidelines and throw mud at elected groups and individuals.
