Yes but they haven't proved it under him. And that's the key. He's giving everyone a clean slate and a chance, I've no problem with that. If they're all wank and he's still picking them in 12 months time ahead of the world cup then we'll have a problem but it's his first squad, he has to be allowed to look at everyone. Getting the older guard in and making a decision on them quickly is a sound move to me.It might not be his job to look 5 years down the road but most of this squad have already proved that they’re not good enough for international football at the very highest level. Rashford not good enough (not good enough for the rags and 1 PL start for Villa, where he was subbed off), Walker, not good enough, Henderson, not good enough, Foden, scandalously out of form and should be nowhere near the squad.
As for the new caps, Quansah not a regular (10 PL appearances, some as sub) v Branthwaite, arguably Everton’s best outfield player this season.
Dan Burn will be a walking red card in international football.
Apart from that, it’s all good (
Ignoring the fact hes a rag, Rashford has had a good month or so at Villa, who has had better that isn't involved? Grealish certainly hasn't and I can't think of anybody else. Branthwaite hasn't been close to evertons best outfield player, if you wanted an Everton defender it would be Tarkowski. Burn has been a solid player for a few seasons now, no issue with him getting his chance.
