Tommy Tuchel's England squad | Nov '25 (p17)

It might not be his job to look 5 years down the road but most of this squad have already proved that they’re not good enough for international football at the very highest level. Rashford not good enough (not good enough for the rags and 1 PL start for Villa, where he was subbed off), Walker, not good enough, Henderson, not good enough, Foden, scandalously out of form and should be nowhere near the squad.
As for the new caps, Quansah not a regular (10 PL appearances, some as sub) v Branthwaite, arguably Everton’s best outfield player this season.
Dan Burn will be a walking red card in international football.

Apart from that, it’s all good (
Yes but they haven't proved it under him. And that's the key. He's giving everyone a clean slate and a chance, I've no problem with that. If they're all wank and he's still picking them in 12 months time ahead of the world cup then we'll have a problem but it's his first squad, he has to be allowed to look at everyone. Getting the older guard in and making a decision on them quickly is a sound move to me.

Ignoring the fact hes a rag, Rashford has had a good month or so at Villa, who has had better that isn't involved? Grealish certainly hasn't and I can't think of anybody else. Branthwaite hasn't been close to evertons best outfield player, if you wanted an Everton defender it would be Tarkowski. Burn has been a solid player for a few seasons now, no issue with him getting his chance.

Happy that Wharton isn’t in the squad. Might only cost us £60m in the summer now.
That’s probably because he’s been injured for about four months and only returned two weeks ago. I do hope we go for him, he’s a good player. I can’t see why Walker and Foden are in, they have had poor seasons. Gibbs-White and Watkins should be in there in my opinion.

Henderson and Walker are inexplicable choices. Rashford gets in on current form. He's been playing pretty well for Villa. That's just a fact. Pickford can be argued against, but actually I'm a bit stumped to pick an English goalkeeper I feel is better and more reliable.
Phil? Frankly, on the form he's shown this season, I'm not sure I'd put him in.
Rashford playing well.
He's got about 2 assists .
He should do.
He's playing on the wings.
He's average at best

Blimey, that isn’t the greatest of squad’s and many knocked Southgate’s choices:)

I'm guessing Dan Burn is taking the Harry Maguire role of being a danger at setpieces and therefore making up about 50% of our overall goal threat.

To be honest it hardly matters who he picks with the very easy qualifying group they have.

Some strange selections. I won't mention the obvious ones but how the fuck has Quansah got in the squad over Branthwaite?

He got hooked at HT in the opening game of the season, and hasn't been trusted since. 4th choice at best and has played 286 minutes of PL football all season.
