Tommy Tuchel's England squad | Nov '25 (p17)

Maybe if he’d just arrived from the moon and not seen them play, you’d have a point. Truth is, he’s surely seen how many of those players have performed under a manager they were all supposed to idolise.

He’s going down the same tired route as everyone else and picking ‘names’ not players in form

As for Rashford, has he had a good month? He’s started ONE league game. As for who’s been better this month? Hudson-Odoi, for one.

Not sure why you mentioned Jack as I wouldn’t have had one city player in the squad, we’ve been that poor.

Gibbs-White has as many assists as Arnold and Palmer, and I doubt any of the named squad could have played that cross field pass that did for us last week.

Delap 10 goals for Ipswich not in, Dominic Solanke, 7 goals for Spurs in.

I reckon Vardy and Wellbeck are 2 injuries from being our front 2…….

You're basically making an argument against a manager wanting to judge players for himself here.

Rashford has had a good month or so. He's got 4 assists already for them, I'm the last person that wants to be defending him but his inclusion is justified right now. I mentioned grealish as he is the only notable left sided midfielder not involved. Hudson-odoi typically plays off the right and Gibbs-white is a central midfielder. Rashfords inclusion and their omission aren't connected, it would be somebody like foden and bowen missing out for those two, and i wouldn't have any complaints if that had happened as those are the two players I name checked as players who probably deserve a call up.

Can't get my head round the inclusion of Henderson. He'll be 36 at the World Cup, he should be nowhere near it and it is worrying if TT is being honest when he says he could be.

Don't buy into the idea that he's needed for experience and team building either - there's enough experienced players in the squad who've been around for years and in multiple tournaments. Baffling decision.

Lewis - Skelly?

What does he bring to the squad. Being a massive prick? Bellingham already has that covered.

I seem to recall Henderson was a bit of a dick with City players so he won't help Foden's confidence.

Foden shouldn't be anywhere near it imo either he's been desperately poor for months

It’s a very inexperienced squad. Of the 25 players, 17 have started fewer than 10 games for England. Both Henderson and Walker have more caps than those 17 players combined.

In fact the 3 players people wish hadn’t been called up have over 1/3 of the caps in the squad.

I expect Tuchel knows Henderson isn’t going to get to the next tournament and will barely play, but Gallagher got injured midweek, he seems onboard with the mentor role and it’s encouragement for a lot of the 29+ year old fringe players England have loads of that you’ll get picked if you’re playing well for your club (by all accounts Henderson is playing v well in the Netherlands although lost a lot of love from Ajax fans after trying to leave in January).

Helping the rags out? He's still a rag player?

What did you think I meant? Get your mind out of the gutter you should be better than that.

I didn’t know what you meant so I asked you to qualify.

The fact that your reasoning doesn’t hold up to a second of critical thought is probably why there’s confusion though.

If you were right and England actually cared about helping out United sell Rashford then they’d not have dropped him from the last 6 squads in the year when United were desperately trying to find a buyer for him. They’ve already loaned him with an option to buy, so no matter who helps them he’s not going for more than that (rumoured to be 30-40m)

Imagine, Hendo, playing in the world Cup finals! (if we get there). Hopefully it will be more exciting than Gareth haha

There can be no other reason why he has been picked, he's shit and has been shit for a considerable amount of time.

Do you think he has been picked for his ability? Try using critical thinking before you answer.

He’s been fantastic for Villa every time I’ve seen him so yeah I’d guess that’s the reason rather.

The man has literally explained that he’s picked Rashford to encourage him to keep up the level he’s played for Villa and get back to his best form, that reason makes sense, the conspiracy you came up with doesn’t, so I’m inclined to go with Tuchels reasoning over yours.

He’s been fantastic for Villa every time I’ve seen him so yeah I’d guess that’s the reason rather than just make up some conspiracy that makes zero sense like you’ve done.

So you rate him then? Good for you because you're doing football wrong, thinking Rashford is shit is a conspiracy theory :)

You're a sly underhand fucker I will give you that.

He’s never lived up to his hype, potential or salary but a month at Villa has shown there’s easily an England quality forward still there, and he’s still rapid which is something England don’t have loads of in the wings.

I can't converse with someone who can't do a 4 piece jigsaw, I really really can't. If you actually believe he's been picked because he has ability we will have to leave it there.

Next, why Jordan Henderson's second wind is good for Liverpool's title challenge.

Not as baffling as Reece James who's barely played in 2 years but of course Tommy managed him at Chelski. If you were in any doubt about nepotism!
