And I'd hope that people aren't doing this intentionally, but conflating the above with City fans from outside the UK or non-blues who don't take the piss and do some research on etiquette is dangerous and from my reading, only a few on here doing that, it isn't 1894

In contrast I remember sitting on a train en route to Stamford Bridge (the one when De Bruyne scored the only goal) and being surrounded by NFL shirts of every team, all of them Wembley bound for the NFL weekend, even though most of their teams weren't playing.
The legacy fans of every PL club have always recognised the difference, but the arrival of the new breed of football fan has diluted the tribal tension and seems to be creating a different kind of conflict where we ignore the 3,000 away fans and vent our spleen at the 10 supporters with weird accents in the home end
