Agreed it seemed to help Erling as well. It seemed to click between them. I would leave Jeremy to be an impact sub for now and hopefully he can work on getting more depth and height on his crosses to take out the queue of defenders waiting to block them but that's another story.

One less than stellar season and you want to sell our best academy graduate when the entire team has been poor? He was player of the season last year. Are players not allowed an off year? Aguero (my favourite ever player) wasn’t exactly brilliant 2012/13 - guessing we should have got rid of him too?

I think Phil had fantastic moments last season and scored goals and assists but i wouldnt say he played amazing in every game he got goals in? For the record, its just a conversation as Pep trusts Phil so he wont be going anywhere but i personally just dont think he is world class but has world class games or moments?

Loss of form and talent are interchangeable in here for some.

He doesn’t control a game like Dave did but he’s still an unbelievable player. 19 goals 8 assists with no penalties with 10 man of the matches and you don’t think he was playing to a world class level?
 
I think we'll be a lot better with Marmoush being given the freedom to play across the front line and for us to look to play that ball in behind more regularly. His movement is excellent and if the opposition are looking to contain Haaland the last thing they want is someone else running in behind as it causes chaos. Gvardiol can provide some width on the left so it's logical for Marmoush to be playing inside left. We can play more of a three at the back when in possession to accommodate that.

We were excellent against Newcastle, albeit I think they were quite poor that day. We need to look to do the same things we did in that game, and with the same personnel in midfield/attack to connect it all together. Gundogan has such good vision and looked a different player with Nico next to him. Not sure we've seen that partnership since despite its effectiveness.
 
So dangerous in the first when he got the ball so of course we decided to ignore his runs in the second half, and of course he gets taken off with 5 minutes to go when we need a goal.
 
Best player on the pitch today by some distance.

Too bad no one can feed him or his runs regularly.

The only thing I could honestly complain about was maybe being a tad offside and the chance off the free kick that rolled off his foot.
