Atmosphere 2024/25

Is anyone really surprised about today? It was fully expected. We have tonnes of fans who don’t even make the effort for a game against rivals. Even those who regularly make the effort are on occasion going to give up. Not surprising that it’s against someone like Brighton when we’re not playing well, even if we did need the points. All in all, a pretty depressing match.
It’s was a big game mate. Each to their own but the lads really needed more support.

If there is a chance to pile on against Supporters Club members, Bluemooners will line up in their droves. They were the invisible man at the match tonight.

I know it was big, but reality is there was no spark on the pitch and none in the stands. I joined in with songs but vast majority weren’t interested. Even the away fans couldn’t wind us up, no-one was bothered what they sang.

The OSC thing is something else entirely and it’s bigger than the atmosphere at one match. IMO it’s fully justified too, they’re the only ones not using their voice and influence.

i think we should fans first and politicians second. Credit to the minority who got behind the lads

I had the feeling the crowd were very restless today. Almost like the good feeling is turning a bit. It didn’t feel right today all game.

The onus is on the players to create the excitement, they earn 100-500k a week, fans are paying up to 76 quid for one ticket again Brighton, fans who have worked their tits off all week, many on 12 quid an hour.

It was terrible. Part of me blames the club, they’ve prioritised corporates, hospitality and non city fans, which has helped to turn the stadium into Disneyland.

I’ve honestly had enough of it. I keep hearing how Maine road was quiet at times. I’d take Maine road any day over what we have now. It doesn’t feel like I’m at a city match at times.
I knocked it on the head last summer after 40 years as a season ticket holder. Sometimes I get fomo but when I read this thread detailing the frustrations of real match going blues like yourself I’m pretty certain that I made the right decision

Is it bollocks fans are their to support the team if they are on 1 pound or 1 million pound a week, today the fans let the team down big time

Or not bothering turning up and those in their place bringing nowt to the table.
It amounts to the same thing mate.

When I’ve posted in the past that we’ve got old together and lost our passion, I normally get a backlash of comments and DMs. That today was the proof in the pudding.

It was around much of the ground too. My mate didn’t come back from the bar for the 2nd half.

In the past we supported the team through the shit with vocal support

Now we have become waiting for something good to happen on the pitch

Fuck me the team needs us when we are struggling not when we are swimming in the glory of titles

Maybe but today was more about season card holders not being arsed.
Do you know how crowd phycology works? People won't sing if they don't think people around them will join in.

Every week we have 3,000 blues singing their hearts out at away grounds round the country, where were they today? The answer is most of them are scattered round the ground surrounded by non like minded people.

We need a home end, 800 people in 115 (Of which only a quarter sing) is a pathetic excuse for a home end.

The answer is quite literally staring us in the face

Why did we blast out that shitty PL jingle before the game ? Ridiculously loud an all, it’s got me thinking maybe things might just be getting amicable through the back channels. Atmosphere was as shite as I’ve seen it for a PL 3 o’clock in many a year, nothing went round the ground, couldn’t hear SS1 from the opposite side, it’s like many of our STH have given up, lots of unrecognised faces everywhere I looked.
One good thing to come out of it will be that shouldn’t have gone unnoticed within the club. That was a big game today in terms of the season & the atmosphere was abysmal.
The club has to understand, just like a title challenging team you need consistency, in player terms that comes from a core of your best players, for atmosphere it comes from your most loyal supporters, who right now are feeling a little more than peeved at the club

You'd get a good atmosphere if we were generally crap. You won't get a good atmosphere while a team with many great players produces crap like we've seen all too often this season.

I'm not bothered about the atmosphere anymore. It is what it is. Soriano has got what he wanted, sat in the directors box, wearing his cashmere coat, listening to the sound of silence.

We had a good chance early in the second half. Had we scored it would have been a different story. Instead they equalised and we just sat there thinking "what the fuck" yet again.
