60 million is overpay, but if it gets city into CL next year, it's worth it. Next season Rodri as the 6, camavinga or similar level plays holding 8 next to Rodri, and Nico backs up both- I'm fine with that. If the plan is Nico starting next to Rodri, he's not good enough

TRANSFER LIST:

New first-choice goalkeeper and a back-up if Ortega goes.


New centre-back - I’d let go of many of our injury prone defence and bring young physical defenders in.


New full-backs both sides. Can’t continue with Nunes/Lewis at full-back every week. Walker will go.


New number #8 options not against another player that can play in the #6 aswell - like a Bruno G type.


Another winger someone that can add goals from the flanks. Could be either sided. Not against Doku and Savio sharing minutes from the left and a right-winger comes in if there’s a better option on the market.



Also on second thought it’s not even a shoe-in that Nico O’Reilly is in the squad next season I really hope he is. Been thoroughly impressed. But we will see how many stay out of the young players or if anyone gets promoted. Mukasa for example.

It feels like we have bought, very average players over the last few years, expecting Pep to make them world class, no sign of that happening.
With the exception of Khus and Haaland who were already great.
The greatness of Rodri is clear to see

Unfortunately, it's the price that had to be paid for such poor due diligence in the transfer market over the last few years when recruiting an adequate Rodri back-up.

That and the January tax.

Any selling club saw us coming a mile off and we had no choice but to pay up.

The fact that it took us until deadline day to get a DM in tells us this. We negotiated hard no doubt, but in the end had to pay up.
 
Gk - need 2 new, I would love Mike maignan to be one for rumours we may bring back Trafford who we should never have sold.

RB - new signing plus Lewis as option 2
LB - New signing. with Ake and Josko as other options

CB - Kush, Ake, Dias, Reis, Bah, Josko

DM - Rodri, Nico, lewis (and if kept berny)as pivot cover

ACM - Rodri, Nico, Echeverri, Foden, O'Rielly

I think we will keep Kev and possibly berny one more year need to buy 1 more Wirtz hopefully

we need to replace KDB and Gundo - this isnt easy but has to be priority - if we buy potential then its a long road back

We need at least two proper full backs, ideally with extreme pace.

Move Gvardiol to his proper position at centre back and outbid the scouse cunts for Marc Guehi whatever the price.

Buy Wirtz whatever the price, and if he’d prefer Bayern just give him and his agent even more cash til he decides it’s City he wants.

Find a proper tough tackling hard fucker in midfield, like NDJ but with a bit better passing. Win the ball, get in opponents’ faces. We are far too soft. You can forgive a lack of ability, but there is no excuse for being a soft **** and letting your head go down if we concede.

Looks like we need a new goalie too. No idea who, hopefully our scouts know.

Fuck net spend. Fuck the cartel and their media lackeys. If we don’t want another shit season we need to spend. Then spend a bit more. And if any rival goes after a top class player in a position we can improve, gazump them. We have the second highest income in football, fucking make use of it before we slip even further and forever become mediocre. Spend.
 
Sentiment has nowt to do with it, Kev staying is widely rumoured to be happeneing and with such a young squad some older players will be kept by Pep kev probaably being the one.

As for kids being untested they have all got first team experience in other leagues, if we never play them they will never be tested, we have bought them to play in the 1st team for the next years to come, they will be part of our starting 11s next season most or them as regulars.

Eddies gone, just face it he wanted out last summer and we won't stand in his way after his lacklustre season, as for Akanji, Dortmunt got 3 good years before he went off the boil, we have had the same, he isn't on the level of stones or Ake footbaling brain wise so if one is kept Ake wins out any day.

We have the makings of a new young squad that can win titles, The CWC is the perfect time to get them seaaon ready, treat it as a pre seaon an play reis, bah, echeverri etc

Ridiculous to dismiss the young ones we have bought as not good enough when they are clearly are going to be playing.
 
A mass overhaul is needed and Pep needs to re-evaluate his tactics as we’ve become easy to play against. I can’t honestly remember the last time I went into a game confident we’d keep a clean sheet.

Totally agree..club world cup will hopefully be the games the likes of echeverri etc will be prepped and ready for the new season

In my opinion, the biggest reason we need to let so many players go is not just that they're not good enough any more. It's to remove the ability for Pep to select them.

Remove the temptation to go back his ex and he'll start to move forward.
