last goal he scored in PL: 16th of December 2023.

assuming we have 9 PL games left, and he will have playing minutes very limited in those maybe 200 minutes if Pep loses faith in Doku, Savinho, or injuries, and even when he plays there are mostly blocked shots at best coming from him, so chances are that he will not score in PL at all this season and that will be an 18 months long goal drought.

now if Doku goes to Belgium, Savinho to Brazil, they will be a bit tired after this 2 weeks break + travelling it can allow Grealish to put in serious amount of work in that 2 weeks and be ready to fight for his place from April. unless we read the news again he bought some rounds for local red noses in the corner pub. its really up to him at this point, no one is gonna save his career with City other than himself.

There’s nothing Grealish can do right or anyone else can do wrong for him to play. He’ll play in the FA Cup and that’s it.

Look at how Pep’s managed our center backs and midfielders. Considering that, do you really think Doku and Savinho playing for their respective countries in the international break is going to impact Grealish’s chances of playing in the PL. The players who started today plus Foden, Bernardo and maybe Kovacic are going to be the ones Pep uses in the league from now on.

Yeah. Absolute nonsense to suggest that a player that was actually performing well in recent performances couldn’t improve this shit show that we are now watching.
Performing well by what standards? Having a go at Pep for a player who contributes little or nothing is insane. Some of you here really need to have your heads examined. What the fuck

Absolutely no idea what's going on with this situation. He can't be performing in training. If he moves in the summer I'll be interested in the transfer fee. The drinking stories don't help either.

Shame, as I thought the lad would push on and I fancied seeing a Foden/Grealish midfield backed up by Rodri mopping up behind them. Didn't we start him in a game this season in the middle and he looked good, or is my memory pump?

I suppose once he moves on we'll get his side of the story.

It's a very strange situation given the absolute shite we've been seeing at times this season.

Hope he moves on for everyone's benefit. What he brought us in the treble winning season got dated very quickly. He was part of that amazing season and no one can take that away from him but it looks like his time with City is up.

Grealish plays wide left and whilst not slow isn’t rapid. To flourish he needs a full back to overlap to give him space and prevent doubling up on him plus give him an option down the side. We spent 100m on him and didn’t have the full back or system needed. It’s bizarre we spent 100m without a clear plan in place. His confidence eroded and he has never flourished. He hasn’t helped himself in a many ways but yet again txiki and peps work in the transfer market leaves a lot to be desired.

More legs that most in that midfield. Should have more chances in the middle. If I’m right he’s played there twice and once was MOTM against the team third in the league. He may have struggled against Juventus, but we’ve had players struggling all season in every position. Feels very odd to exclude that option when we have the likes of Gundo struggling most weeks. That said I probably don’t know about some major issue with Pep, something must have happened.

And even in that game against Juve he did alright in the first half playing a deeper role but was then shunted out to the left again in the second half.

Maybe by the standards of performing well before getting injured against Madrid? That wasn’t a performance that would then see someone barely get a look in since. You carry on with the dramatics though. What the fuck

He will go down as a player who was immensely talented but could not stay healthy because he did not take care of himself off the pitch the way you see elite athletes do nowadays.

Good person with a good heart and always represented the club well but I can't see any top 5 team take him until he truly adjusts how he takes care of himself off the pitch.

In a nutshell. He's a lovely, genuine lad, but he hasn't taken his career seriously.

Would a villa return not be on the cards?

no way imo. this is not the same Villa he left.

that Villa finished 5th in Champo and won through playoff in 2019. once promoted and finished 17th in Pl only staying up in 2020. in 20-21 they finished 11th and Grealish has a great season with lots of assists but in a mostly counterattacking team who didnt really fight for EL place even.kind of like a fantastic season in a club as strong as Brentford or Fulham today.. then we signed Grealish summer 2021 for 100m.

this current Villa is levels above that Villa. fighting for CL places, earned CL place last season still alive in CL while Liverpool, City crashed out.

they now have quicker, stronger, fitter options where Grealish would play for them with more end product. actually our own Rogers is one of those lol.
not mentioning Emery wants quick passing in attacks and speed and not hold onto the ball what Pep trained into Grealish.

dont think he would be a good fit even for Newcastle but could see Howe giving his mojo back somewhat. he likes British players.

Spurs imo is the club where he would fit in but how bad they are this season lol. probably a new manager taking over from Postecoglou in the summer, who knows which type of manager they get. also not sure Levy wants a big outlay on Grealish. would be uite a step down for Grealish too, I mean this Spurs might not step on the pitch in CL for years to come. their squad is not good, manager not good, and Levy calling the shots instead of a proper DoF and Son aged badly, Kane gone etc. not a great project right now.

it will be a struggle to recoup even 50% of his buy price. even more so if he refuses to lower salary as no one will pay him 300K+. could be something like 30-35m fee at best but we would need to offset set with the salary difference until end of his City contract compared to his new salary which then leaves not much for us.
but its not even like we put him in the shop window these days which is just reducing his price each week.

Good post. Personally, I think Jack would be a world beater if he joined PSG. He'd fit in perfectly with them imo.

Just a matter of if they'd want him!

The Jack fan boys now have Bernardo in his sights.
You could not make it up.
Okay Bernardo is not at his best but he has not been poor as long as Jack.
I don't think it's far off. Has Bernardo done anything of note in the last two years ?
