It’s a waste to use one on someone that just comes on in the odd game for 15 mins, especially when at least 2 of those spots are likely to be goalkeepers.
And as a separate point, I’d prefer those minutes to be going to players that are the future. Players like Echeverri are going to be a much better use of those 15 mins here and there. We need to look to the future and not the past. Otherwise we end up losing exciting young players because we blocked them with a once world class player that is no longer that.
I’d rather keep pathways open and invest in the next era.
