Atmosphere 2024/25

If anything they'll want more people to move into the presumably cheaper safe standing seats at the back of the stand so that the more expensive seats their vacating across the rest of the stadium can be turned into individual match by match package seats.
If people are vacating groups of seats, most of them will be be turned into flexi-golds / season cards for families of Blues.

It’s the extra hospitality seats that the Directors
expect to do the heavy lifting in terms of paying for the new stand.

Great post but I just find it a chore going to games these days. I used to get a buzz out of going but that's gone, and it went last season. The whole experience is bordering on depressing these days. I've even watched a few away games on TV & i've found myself doing something else while it's on in the background.
I can agree with most of that especially the comment about last season as that's when I believe the rot set in, and winning the PL papered over the cracks. - I think we all accepted four in a row will never be beaten so the deficiencies were ignored. Or perhaps we thought we'd buy the required players over the summer.
Saturday was less of a chore as Mick was with us (on his motorised chariot) and he's missed three years due to serious illness.
Having agreed about going to the game being a chore, I still get a huge buzz when we score and that buzz is there whoever we score against. I'll knock live games on the head if I ever stop jumping up to celebrate our goals.

I have received plenty of these this season but I just don’t see the point. What can be done to improve your match day experience it asks. Turn the tannoy down I say so I can speak to my mates and hear what they are saying. Yesterday it was even louder than normal. They say they listen to the fans, it’s utter bollocks.
I told them to stop pricing out City fans and stop giving tickets to touting agencies that put a huge mark-up on tickets just because they add a cheap meal. I intended to add a comment about stopping actual fans selling at face value but can't remember if I did.

Me and my sons were saying the same, the tannoy has never been louder.

Is it the case that our 1894 "atmosphere" group do not intend to move to the new North Stand ?

A minimum of 3000 rail seats will be set aside in the best position for generating songs and noise at the back of the North Stand under the roof.

Instead, 1894 have been very lukewarm.

South Stand 1 has a number of disadvantages -

* too small
* too low down
* one of the worst locations to generate a noise
* is partly situated below a concrete overhang from SS2 whuch deadens sound.

The South Stand is split in part with away fans and 2 levels are usually given over to away fans in cup games. Inevitably they dominate the noise at that end in cup games.

The new North Stand provides the opportunity for a complete, large end for the first time.

It will have a mix of different types of fans yet there will still be at least 3000 rail seats for singers and more if needed.

Our 1894 'atmosphere' group seem to be shunning this. Their 'reasons' for this appear to be unconvincing.

If 1894's primary objective is atmosphere generation, then locating in the extended North Stand is the logical way forward.
The situation is very simple

The North Stand L2 could and should’ve been the thing to transform the atmosphere. The club’s plans are centred on generating money not on generating atmosphere.

Once the club released their plans we said tell us more details tell us the prices.

That’s where we are. If they make the prices attractive people will go there. If they make the prices unattractive people won’t go.

On the same day we asked the club to tell us the pricing structure we also mailed Danny Wilson privately to say we would still be happy to support anyone who wants to move.

We are seeing every week in south lower different people each time who don’t know where their seats are and people who perhaps have never been before.

If City continue to stall on pricing we could only encourage people to move to south 1 2 and 3 to rebalance the singing.

There’s the facts. Cheers

Fan on Saturday, was a nice Japanese bloke who had some just to see Mitoma playing for Brighton.

Spot on. And that situation hasn't changed for months because we're still waiting on further info from the club. 1894's door remains firmly open.

Watching the sort of football we are at present will not get too many excited.

Sort it out on the pitch and the fans will respond.
i understand this to a degree, but the Etihad hasn't exactly been rocking across the last few years, watching brilliant stuff.

I think the difference between fan's support on away days and the support we get in the Etihad is the key difference to focus on. Performance barely matters for away days.

It’s all about opinions mate. I thought Saturday was a good game played between two attractive teams. In years gone by we would have said Marmoush’s goal was worth the admission money alone but I know tickets are more expensive now!

1894 singing "Jonny,Johnny Stones" was embarrassing along with the rest of the atmosphere.

1894 needs a dedicated song /chant writing group to act separately and dedicatedly on atmosphere.

They are, imo, spread too thinly on campaigns, flags and atmosphere.

Hopefully, the singers in the expanded North Stand will focus on the classics like, “We Love You City”, “City, We’re from Manchester”, “Colin the King” and “Edin Dzekooooooooooooo”

I had a group of 10 spanish blokes round me (1 of which had old toilet as his background with a scum phone case, sat taking photos of Danny Welbeck, 1 moaned to my Mrs that I was shouting too loud and another asked if I could move seats in 2nd half as he had found his brother!

What makes you think only 1894 sing that song? On a good day, the whole stadium sings it FFS!

If you've got any suggestions for songs, feel free to share them or better still make a contribution to the atmosphere yourself. Why not bring Mark Bittner out of retirement while you're at it!

“Who said City couldn’t play” will get the ground rocking!

This is absolutely the core of the problem. If they want more corporate seats, put them in the CB/EL2 blocks where there aren't any currently, and leave the new North Stand 100% for ordinary fans.

I wouldn't say anyone singing anything was embarrassing on Saturday.

It's the 50k that sang absolutely nothing who were embarrassing.

I blame the united fan on the tannoy who keeps trying to make it all about him

Blind faith at this stage I’m afraid Tim
The Edin chant was a bit tongue in cheek.

As things stand it’s going to be failure for atmosphere but it might help some families who’ve struggled to get tickets together. The Directors aren’t expecting many Blues to move from the South Stand to the North Stand.

As I told John a while back, I raised the corporate blocks with Danny Wilson at an OSC meeting a few months ago. The plan for locating them at the bottom of North Stand Level 2 is probably the worst location in the ground for undermining resurrecting the atmosphere. I advocated using the East and West Stand L2 seats at the North end of the ground but that won’t be considered. The next logical choice (if more corporate seats are needed at all) is South Stand L2 next to legends.
