Atmosphere 2024/25

The Edin chant was a bit tongue in cheek.

As things stand it’s going to be failure for atmosphere but it might help some families who’ve struggled to get tickets together. The Directors aren’t expecting many Blues to move from the South Stand to the North Stand.

As I told John a while back, I raised the corporate blocks with Danny Wilson at an OSC meeting a few months ago. The plan for locating them at the bottom of North Stand Level 2 is probably the worst location in the ground for undermining resurrecting the atmosphere. I advocated using the East and West Stand L2 seats at the North end of the ground but that won’t be considered. The next logical choice (if more corporate seats are needed at all) is South Stand L2 next to legends.

The visuals are also going to be terrible if the south stand level 1 move on masse. It’s the one area of the ground where the celebrations are worthy of a goal. If they all move further back in the North stand the cameras won’t have much to film when our players wheel off to celebrate.

Spot on mate.

It’s best to keep the South Stand full and build our following in North Stand Level 2.

Can we make the new half and half stand for the tourists. They don't even have to leave their hotel grounds.

Keep the south stand for loyal fans, fuck off the away fans in to some shitty corner

i understand this to a degree, but the Etihad hasn't exactly been rocking across the last few years, watching brilliant stuff.

I think the difference between fan's support on away days and the support we get in the Etihad is the key difference to focus on. Performance barely matters for away days.
Always been thus, our away support is second to none.

I had a group of 10 spanish blokes round me (1 of which had old toilet as his background with a scum phone case, sat taking photos of Danny Welbeck, 1 moaned to my Mrs that I was shouting too loud and another asked if I could move seats in 2nd half as he had found his brother!
I hope you told him to go forth and multiply

Watching the sort of football we are at present will not get too many excited.

Sort it out on the pitch and the fans will respond.
While i understand what your saying - and it has some validity i also feel it proves the problem. Some of our fanbase are now so used to wining that its become a form of entitlement, i can remember a few games stood on the kippax where the atmosphere was equally as shit, but not that many - and we were terrible most of the time on the pitch. But we had a sense of identity and unity, that unfortunately i think were losing ... you form a bond in adversity so lets hope it kicks in. im now what you class as a FOC - but i never stop singing at the match, to the point where my daughter finds it necessary to tell me to calm it down --- kids hey

It shouldn't be about where we look best for the camera's! It should be about where we can create the best atmosphere for our players.

It's not like they ever film the south stand anyway. When Bernardo scored vs Madrid and south stand went bedlam, the cameras decided to zoom in on some tourists in CB1 who were motionless holding up their phones to film!

They don’t expect many fans to move or they don’t want many fans to move?

A clear pricing plan would determine that ?

What makes you think only 1894 sing that song? On a good day, the whole stadium sings it FFS!

If you've got any suggestions for songs, feel free to share them or better still make a contribution to the atmosphere yourself. Why not bring Mark Bittner out of retirement while you're at it!
John Stones wasn't in the fucking Stadium !!

Why not sing songs/chants that are relevant and encouraging, motivational a team struggling to win a game.

SSL1 is rarely good, on Saturday it was shocking and misguided .

Say hello to Mark if you know him !!

As has already been pointed out on this thread, singing something is better than singing nothing. What were you singing on Saturday?

Liverpool fans all over twitter bemoaning their pathetic end yesterday, a complete tourist takeover, literally hardly any scousers, no one knew the songs, apparently their worst ever end, we are not alone
It’s everywhere now. My niece is an Evertonian and they’re sick of half and half scarves and tourists too. Clubs need to wake up.

Lets be frank here...scousers don't see tickets as requisite to entering a stadium....

I'm close to packing it in. Fuck knows what else I'll do

I never thought i'd quit going to the Hammers, first season in 30+ years i've not gone. don't miss it one bit. someone offered me a ticket for Newcastle match last week for free and i still turned it down, rather watch down Pub or home. Travel Cost + shit atmosphere and annoying bellends all around me chatting shite i don't miss at all.

Is it just down to that though or was a lot of it down to Newcastle stamping their authority on the game from the off and Liverpool fans not being up for it as a result? Whether we like it or not, many English atmospheres are governed by what's going on on the pitch and I think this is especially true for domestic matches at Wembley. Liverpool fans were wanking off about the atmosphere when they played us in the 2022 FA Cup semi-final but we gifted them the game with our starting line-up. They were 2-0 up after a little over 15 minutes and 3 up at half-time so it's no surprise that their end was jumping but if the roles were reversed we wouldn't have heard a peep from the fuckers.

Interesting, a Newcastle mate of mine was quite impressed with the Liverpool fans yesterday, although from what I've gathered they were no match for the Geordies
