PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

Yes. I hope it is. But it is impossible to know for sure. Would Puma do a deal with the PL if City had lost the case? But as someone else pointed out Puma may have another motive, perhaps damage limitation. I also am surprised by the suggestion that the independent regulator is being scrapped. This could also be good

As already mentioned, that looks like City have already warned them that anymore of their bullshit and we’ll be taking action. Could be looking into it to much but good indication that City are expecting good news.
Interesting it’s Keegan who has realised it seems to get news off City first

This is how I think it will play out. Just like the other case with both sides claiming victory.

I don't think it will be a clear cut decision.

Disturbs me a bit that tweet, because I was still retaining some hope that we might be fully exonerated, found not guilty etc.

Can't see City accepting a win some lost some scenario.

Even if we do get found guilty of just a few of the charges, the optics will get twisted and pumped out as being a complete guilty verdict and our achievements and the club will be tainted.

It's win or bust I think.

I also don't think the PL will appeal if we do come out on top as there is already rumblings of discontent within the rest of the PL as to how much this case is costing legally. It's the money of the 20 clubs that the PL is spending in this case.

Dont think this has anything to do with us, we'll likely be fine with them making twats of themselves and setting themselves up for a lawsuit if thats how they want to play it but sky are probably fearful of a full blooded City retaliation and a full attack on anybody and everybody in the event of us being cleared. Most of them are too thick to be trusted to speak on the issues without opening themselves up for a lawsuit so their employers are just telling them to shut their mouths before it costs them dearly.

The premier league claimed a victory when they were found to be acting unlawfully, obviously they're going to claim a victory in this too. We all know we're guilty for the dozens of non-complience charges, and they'll do their best to convince as many morons as possible of our guilt through those alone if the rest goes our way.

The headlines have been written already "man city found guilty of x charges in ffp case" and completely ignore the bit where they have to explain we're guilty of nothing but not cooperating in order to seek a fair hearing.

I hope that we can somehow contest those charges if we're cleared of everything else as those verdicts would indicate we were entirely justified in not cooperating in the first place and therefore shouldn't be punished for not cooperating with a governing body that cannot act lawfully or without bias. We really need a complete clean sweep to try and lay this to rest once and for all. A single guilty verdict even if it's just for not cooperating gives the disingenuous and the thick a way to keep claiming guilt.

I think his literature extends to the treasure map on the back of menus
talking of menus...

has anyone else ever requested "the lady's menu"?

you can discreetly ask the maitre d for one in very fancy restaurants and hotels.

what it boils down to is that if you are taking a woman to lunch or dinner,
chances are she will simply glance at the menu and order the most expensive thing on it.

the lady's menu has no prices written on it :)

“We all know we’re guilty of dozens of non-compliance charges”
Do we? I didn’t, genuinely.

I don’t think that’s a realistic scenario tbh.
People being able to make their own interpretation of any verdict isn't particularly helpful.

I suppose the ridiculous PR battle that played out after the APT case should've been an indicator. Sounds rather infuriating.

One main concern I have is that the Premier League will claim victory on non-compliance, and basically state that they couldn't get the required evidence needed to sentence the punishments required for the charges put forward.

That way, we claim the bigger victory, but the PL cover it all in doubt by saying they couldn't obtain the evidence needed as City hid it.

I honestly don't understand how this approach/result could benefit the PL more than them coming out and saying "there were concerns, we investigated, the evidence showed there was no wrongdoing, we did the right thing and everything is good".
