I know this belongs in the TV thread but i feel its worthy of its own thread and the bigger meaning for society to deal with the masculinity problem young children are being fed.

It is one the most powerful, heartbreaking TV shows i have ever seen - the acting is beyond anything and the way it's filmed (one continuous) shot is done superbly.

Made me give my kids a big hug this morning. A must watch for everyone, especially parents of young children.

what worried me most with both boys was the " can you just take this to X for me " knowing drugs are other shit. i used to say anyone asks you to do this tell take it yourself and walk away
the danger still there but older now can use own mind

Enjoyed it...as you say very well acted.
However, I think the ol' toxic masculinity was shoe horned in there, the real problem with the kid was his parents over indulging his temper...prob dressed it up as ''just like his Dad'...

It's grim. But a must see.

This incel thing , 80% of women are only interested in 20% of men
If this is true the implications for society are terrifying

I think it just pinpoints a very confusing age for a 13 year old child, the brain trying to make sense on how to behave with girls, how to deal with rejection, seeing themselves as ugly, how to deal with bullying, what they are being fed on social media and the sexual images they see etc - It's so hard for children of that age in todays world. everyone must do more - hence the meaning of this whole show.

yeah, what would have helped is if they hadn't let the little fecker roam the streets 10.30 at night....mostly we all had the same experiences growing up, but without the social media, difficult to manage I would think!...good luck with your kids fella.

It sounds like Andrew Tate and other red pill arseholes BS. Would like to see the official stats.

that's a big 'but' in my view, the likes of Andrew Tate inspired incel communities are channeling so much hate, anger and confusion into children scrolling through social media - but you are correct, he shouldn't be out that time of night, his parents should be doing more - it's a massive wake up call to society on Parents, Schools, Government etc to do more and be more mindful.

Think you've nailed it.

Growing up we had magazines and pressure on girls which created an identity crisis for them. It's happening to lads now.

They need positive male models to help them set boundaries. Sadly some of these lads are lost because of the immaturity of their fathers and mothers who've used them as weapons for more maintenance payments. But that's another societal debate.

It's a worrying uptrend.

I watched this the other day, which was pretty interesting.

It turns out that a lot of this rhetoric was based on a now deleted blog referencing a study on around 600 people from well before Tinder and Bumble existed. But it’s true that women are far more likely to get matches on Tinder.

Thank you for this.

Thought the acting by Stephen Graham in the 4th episode was up there with some of his best in his career

still yet to see the last episode but his acting in the first episode was something else - his speechless reaction when the police finally gave clear evidence and the penny dropped for him.

did he do it though? It says earlier on that he changed his clothes. I think his mate did it wearing his clothes. His son was so insistent that he did nothing.

We watched it weekend. My missus is one of those who talks through films/shows, however much to the good of my well-being she shut the fuck up through all 4 episodes.

Phenomenal telly, and Stephen Graham is now there amongst the best in his profession. A brilliant actor.
Crikey, I found I just sat and listened to all the little nuances, like when he turned to the therapist and revealed his true character. Also how he spoke on the telephone to his mother and sister in car. Tiny give aways to his thinking. Brilliant piece of TV.

He is.
But I thought the kid stole the show. Especially in the third episode.
