PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

It’s politics mate, they’re all stuck in the same plague pit.
Yup, Eric, sadly.. Even after all my years of studying History, 'Realpolitik' still mithers me, given that I want to give lots of f**kers a slap for what they got (and are getting) up to, then tell them, Princess Anne-style, to 'Naff off out of it'. But then, you realise you actually have to deal with the twunts, however much you despise them..

Which puts me in mind of the Premier League and UEFA..

I don’t follow the women’s football so have no idea who she is either.

Fuck the club for that breaking news at that time though ;-)
Just fyi, obviously, she's a Dutch international footballer (top scorer in the WSL) who scored 2 goals in the CL against Chelsea to inflict their first defeat in 30 odd games.
The Chelsea women's team who Chelsea sold but still bear their name and play at Stamford Bridge and wear their kit. Who pay the biggest wages (despite a wage cap) and sign the best players - heard all that before anywhere?

I rest m'lord.

If the rumours were true that the first sight of the verdict was on Monday then we'll have been given a few days to check for any required amendments. So tomorrow or Monday are possible shouts.

Tomorrow would give the Sunday papers time to write their stories but there's an England game. I'd say Monday is more likely but we're all still guessing based on rumours.

As with most lines of work, you would typically want to get it off your desk before the week is out rather than at the start of the next one. Friday makes sense to me. An England game is a welcome distraction for the PL. It's nothing to do with them and could take some heat off (not a lot in reality).

I would guess the draft came out Monday with a target of comments back and the final judgment tomorrow.

This story is so big I don’t think it really matters when it’s actually released. You can’t bury news that city won. Just not possible.

Stage managing it is the least of the leagues problem. They have the media machine behind them to twist and turn when needed.

If City know we are clear then I am surprised we don’t release when ready but maybe the tribunal has asked for both parties to try and deliver a result that doesn’t cause more issues like APT.

I would say parts of the verdict will not show the club in a good light so maybe that’s the issue now, optics is more important today that who has won or lost it seems.

The reason York is mentioned so much is after that defeat the club were in their lowest position ever in the football league. 10th in league one(or 3rd division in old money).

Many fans including me at that time just couldn't see a way back. After the defeat at Wrexham on boxing day the players and staff had a team meeting and many players at that time have said that's where the dogs of war mantra started with Andy Morrison as the leader which saw the start of an upturn in results which led us back to The Premier League
Yes we were at our lowest point AFTER York. The game after York was Wrexham.

I am gonna go out on a limb n say theŕe will be shitty press releases using speculative lingo so those rag tops can keep on piling on the Time Barred shite. Just hope we blow the cunts out the water

If it doesn’t come out tomorrow it will leak out over the weekend for the Sunday papers. Lots of idle gossip at social events around international weekend.

Just woke up to the song Mr. Blue-sky. ( ELO for the younger ones) echoing round my head ,looked outside, beautiful blue sky.
Went to the bog for the necessary, and low and behold the blue flush has started working. It must be a sign it's imminent.
Come on Koolhand give me a call ,I won't tell anyone, honest.

It seems like only yesterday we got to 9000, now 9271. Each time now when I look. its jumped 30/40 so I just jump to the last post to see if the judgement has been announced

I agree that it's possible parts of the verdict will show City as having managed, with the help of their professional advisors, to work around the rules rather than infringe them, sometimes in ways that the people who drafted the rules didn't expect or hadn't contemplated. This is what happens when you lay down rules, and it's something legitimate businesses all across the world do every day.

If that is what happens, then there'll be lots of wailing and gnashing of teeth about loopholes or not complying with the spirit of the law. Such views aren't deserving of being taken seriously. If anyone puts forwards complaints specifically along these lines, then fuck them.

"Not being able to pin anything on City is bad for the game and here's 115 reasons why...."

sigh... made the fatal mistake of doing some actual f**kin work this morning... 16 pages of nothing to go... can't not read it though, just can't... wibble wibble wibble...
