North Stand Construction Discussion

Sounds a bit churlish to me. What are they trying to hide/protect? Have they not seen the drone footage?
Oh they've seen those alright.

Their main concerns are around security and people having access to detailed information about the build. Some of the concerns from the Club as well who are of course their client.

Of course a lot of that is available in the published planning application but you have to know where to look for those.Thought the event overall was great though.

Not churlish.

Photos CAN be taken but NOT circulated on public media. Would you allow just anyone to take a photo of your property and ping it on to social media....no me neither.

The club has to consider terrorism risk, vandalism, sponsorship agreements, NDAs etc along with Sisks own requirements.

The presentation was as open as you'd expect, with an external viewing platform giving good views into the construction site.

It isn't Sisk.

There is a Site Eye live video camera overlooking the stand, but that is for Sisk and City only.

To be honest, there isn't much difference between my ground level pictures and the pictures from the viewing platform apart from a wider depth of field. There's nothing in the viewing platform pictures that hasn't already been seen in anyone elses pictures, the drone videos, and pictures I've found on Linkedin, etc.

Pure intentions, maybe.

I.e that people coming to these are not doing it for their own gain and exposure, but genuine interest in the build. I would have had no issue with that myself, if I had managed to be there.

I've posted pictures from the viewing platform that were posted on Linkedin. I think it was a women in construction or business event.

It's not protecting anything.

What was said during the event gave more of an insight about the build then the pictures ever will.

I just don't think City want to showcase the North stand build to City fans and to the wider general public/World for whatever reason, bar the odd construction update on the OS, which is always weeks behind.

Sisk appear to be a super family company, with a great history and credentials.

They know their market & their capabilities, only taking on projects of £100 million +.

As you would expect 2 of the Sisk family are on site every ten working days to meet with their & City's project teams.

The presentation is simple, factual and worth attending.

Hope this helps.

That is yet another thing our club is useless at. Everton had regular updates on their web site for Bramley Moore Dock.

You get far better and up to date information on all things City from this truly great forum.

When will they be doing another.

Was at the event and can echo all or the above good presentation and the Sisk guys were very open and informative the planning and the logistics of the build are mind blowing Unfortunately as alluded to we can’t share anything.

Thanks JRB and many thanks for your great work.
Sorry, here's the link, and screen shots of the interactive map where you can book an event.

There weren't many events in Manchester this year. Normally there's quite a few to pick from and book, especially in the city centre.

I’m still struggling to see why the club is so secretive and reticent about this development. Why are they not promoting it as an example of what is actually being invested in MCR in contrast to an imaginary big top in Trafford?

Is it just the photos they asked not to be shared, rather than the discussions and information talked about

The 10 questions I had written down, and what I wrote down during the presentation have been forwarded to City. Sisk are waiting on an OK from the club. The whole event is pretty much NDA'd.

TBH I can't really remember the specific and interesting details of the presentation.

There was an amazing North stand construction sequence animation video that lasted over 2 minutes.
