PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

not sure that's right given capital letters existed before lowercase.
capital letters cannot exist without lowercase.
a capital letter is a single uppercase instance at the beginning of a lowercase word.

i think you might mean uppercase existed before lowercase,
although, of course, it wasn't named that at the time.

edit:
i shall also repeat my claim that the "capslock" key is incorrectly named.
it should be called summat like the "uppslock" key.

i rest my (upper or lower) case :)

early writing tended to use straight lines and sharp edges. if you're writing on stone, it’s pretty hard to carve clean curves.

think as parchment became more popular lowercase began to creep in, mostly due to the fact it was quicker. that was between around the 3rd to the 8th centuries.

it's thought romans mixed the cases purely for stylistic reasons and from what i can tell that's where we get it from.
Although Old Roman Cursive predates even that and was used on tablets etc. for informal writing (that's the tablets with wax on them, not Roman iPads). Roman Square Capitals were used for formal writing including, as you say, carving on stone.

Well, if there is no actual news on the thread topic, we may as well talk about something else and the bacon butty adventure seems to have drawn to a close.

Just to add a bit of drama / excitement to the party The Premier League is currently undertaking a (not so now) confidential review of its senior leadership team currently with an executive search firm. A confidential C level search in fact. Make of that what you will ;-)

Yeah, but does anyone know what it actually means?

What’s a C level search?

Does it stand for ****?
According to AI "
  • A more detailed explanation:
    • What is C-Level Search?
C-level search is a specialized recruitment process focused on finding and placing top-level executives, such as CEOs, CFOs, and CHROs, who are responsible for leading an organization and making major decisions.
