Some of my earliest TV memories are of cooking shows for some reason, there was her and The Galloping Gourmet who was some mental Aussie bloke who would run around the kitchen

I came across that galloping gourmet chef in a pub in Kinsale once .
He was with Keith Floyd so you can imagine the scene.
I thought he was a Kiwi but it turns out that he was actually English.
He was in the catering corps in the British army, I'm guessing pretty high up, and then ended up in New Zealand armed forces and then Australia. Not sure how he ended up on tv but he was well capable of downing red wine as quickly as Floyd could.
